ah, i had a post in someone else's thread. i hope you don't mind if i quote it onto here: hello, i just registered today after beating the single player campaign over the weekend. i had to get the app once i noticed it was free. after beating the campaign, i decided to try online versus, but it seems i can't connect to the servers. i actually found out a very odd problem; i will try to detail it here: basically, i cannot login to uplay when connected to wifi. it seems the only times you are prompted for uplay login are at store access and versus access. since store doesn't require wifi, i can just turn off my wifi and use my 3G connection to connect and buy boosters, but it seems for the iphone version of this game 3G is not supported for versus and requires wifi. so, when i login to wifi and then start the game, i cannot login into uplay (after the prompt, it says there was a network error or it simply fails to log me in and i am returned to the uplay login page), so i tried a workaround by having wifi off, connecting to uplay via 3G by accessing the store first, then switching to my network options to turn on wifi and reentering the game and selecting versus. what results then is i get to bypass the uplay login prompt as well as any network error messages, but the screen freezes at the "play tactics" menu screen with the "versus" icon tapped (it is black and not grey). all icons on screen do not respond, but oddly the dropdown top menu can still be accessed (but all icons on this dropdown menu do not respond either). i've tried removing the app and reinstalling, but the issue persists. it seems i will just need to wait for a patch? well, after lurking around a bit, i am contemplating the solution of jailbreaking my iphone, getting on cydia and the 3G unrestrictor and attempting a connection then? seems like a lot of work for one game, but this is one hell of a game...will try perhaps next weekend when i have time. if anyone else has had this issue with multiplayer btw, please do let me know!

3G unrestrictor is your best bet, but it's untested so far. You would be the first.

Well, to remove the obvious, have you tried to play the game on the same device on another connection? Your friends or perhaps the connection at work? Then try someone else's device and game on your network?
It actually sound like your wifi could be guarded by some stupid stealth firewall that's blocking specific traffic that you don't know about... Not that I'm a network pro.
Let us know if you tested successfully or not!

I tried using 3G Unrestrictor While I was out waiting for my orientation for my job (had an hour to kill). It will let you connect to game center, but I could not find any games whatsoever.
Not sure if it was because of the 3G connection or people just weren't playing at that time.

Try again, just in case. There were uplay issues yesterday.

"Note that one of the UDP port we use is 9103. If you have a firewall, I think you can unblock only that port."
Try forwarding that to the ipad.

notes:
-i jailbroke my iphone today and found out stupidly enough i can't download 3g unrestrictor as my iOS software is 5.1 (yet to be supported)
-i tried connecting to my university's wifi network and have had no luck there as well. will try more spots tomorrow.
-i attempt to create a UDP port triggering feature on my wifi router to port 9103. not sure if i actually did this process correctly, but nevertheless still no connection.
thanks to everyone who offered advice. even though there has been little success yet, we may yet be closer to narrowing down to a solution. at this point i just hope the auction house in april can be accessed through 3g, so i can at least get some new cards and get rid of all my animus reboots haha

This should fox it, if it does, then we can ask the devs what ports we are missing opening.

just went through my wifi router settings and set up a DMZ ip address with some security options disabled in case they were interfering. i set my iphone's wifi settings to static to that specific ip address, and then placed an HTTP proxy manual option for port 9103 and server as my DNS server number. tried logging into uplay and now i'm getting a prompt saying login services are unavailable. i'll try again later to see if this one error is on uplay and not my connection for once haha
thanks again!

turn off the http proxy bit, that is not required when using dmz and will have unexpected results.

hmmm, still no luck unfortunately. perhaps just to confirm i'm doing these things right, do you mind looking over this? thanks again for your help:
i used letter representations to keep things secure, of course, just need proof i'm following these steps. when i login into my router status, here's some values i get:
Internet Port MAC Address -REMOVED- IP Address -PART A- Connection DHCP IP Subnet Mask -PART B- Domain Name Server -PART C- or -PART D- (there are 2 different addresses listed here)
So, on my iphone. i go to my wifi router, select static and input the following:
IP Address -the static address i set as my DMZ address- Subnet Mask -PART B- Router -PART A- DNS -PART C- Search Domains -EMPTY-
HTTP Proxy -OFF-
oh, and lastly. in my Port Triggering options on my router, i set this up as well:
Service Name -Assassins Creed- Service Type -UDP:9103- Inbound Connection -UDP:9102..9103- Service User -same number as DMZ-

Im battling to follow what your doing, but Your iphone will have an internal ip eg: 192.168.1.10 your router will have an internal ip eg: 192.168.1.1 on the router under dmz set: ip address : 192.168.1.10 (this is your phone) Under port triggering, remove everything, it is not required in dmz mode, and will have unexpected results. Also you shouldnt need to put subnet mask etc into the router, as it already knows this. eg:

You should not have to use DMZ to play the game so we could find out from the devs what port ranges to forward so just those are going to your iPhone, which would be more secure. It's up to you, let me know if you want to carry on or not.
