This is a minor nitpick but it did confuse me when I was new to the game:
When you do a versus mode match you find a player and choose a deck, or, Sequence, to play against them.
Once you've chosen a deck the game pauses, presumably until they have chosen one as well, then moves into the game board.
You are then given the option to choose a HAND between two random draws.
If, however, you choose quickly, you move to the board and see in the top left "Waiting for opponent to choose sequence". Immediately after that message goes away the countdown begins.
This led me to believe that, until I learned more about the cards, "sequence" was someones hand. You can imagine how that backfired with certain cards.
I understand that some of you will say "That is truly pointing towards them choosing a deck before moving to the board" BUT, the only time that message goes away is when the game begins it's 1, 2, 3 countdown, leaving the opponent no time to choose between two hands.
So when it says "Waiting for opponent to select sequence" it should probably be saying "Waiting for opponent to select hand".
Again, minor nitpick, just slightly confusing.

Actually, after the sequence message there is also a waiting for opponent to be ready message, which is when they're selecting their hand. I'm pretty certain of this, I just went to check

Maybe I'm imagining it but I swear I've only ever seen the waiting for sequence bit. My bad apologies. Guess I'm just a derp.

sequence is what you call a deck when the player is choosing his hand, it's say in fact: waiting for the opponent to be ready.
