I play a lot of mill and buried cathedral does remove the cards before the draw. I know someone up there (ironclad) stated that they haven't seen many successful mill decks. Mine works quite well against almost every type of deck. As with all decks, it has a couple weaknesses, one of which can be overcome with the right draw.

I'd be interested to see a mill deck done right. With so many cards that can get rid of sites how do you protect Buried Cathedrial? Do you play that with discard or counters too?

With some discard and Ancestral Discoveries, you don't need to protect your cathedrals. Mill is strong.

With some discard and Ancestral Discoveries, you don't need to protect your cathedrals. Mill is strong. I like the idea of Ancestral Discovery in that kind of deck. I think the discard is a good strategy with the mill and is a way of protecting the Cathedral. The main problem I've seen with mill decks is usually you normally never have just one copy of most cards in a deck. Against a non mill deck, if I win the game I may have typically 20+ cards left. Facing the mill decks I may have 10 or fewer, if I I can't get rid of the Cathedral for some reason. But milling my deck doesn't change the odds of getting my winning cards because of I'll have multiple copies in my deck. Even with Novella Catacombs I wasn't too worried. That's why I would love to see good mill deck from some of the better players like you or gamemaestro if you wouldn't mind sharing.
