Same face too! I think you have the right idea, since I quit right after the exchange. I figured there was nothing in the deck so gracefully conceded... well that's my story anyway and you can't prove otherwise. Well now you guys won't know whether I added another temple or not, so you might as well stay and finish the game next time. It's sad that after going through all the effort in getting the combo to work and eliminating the threats I've never once gotten to win before my opponent leaves.

Lol be happy that you get that win It's a perfectly good solution I wonder if that impacts rankings (well, the thing we think means our rankings anyway)

If you play pick your poison then you can stuff this up easily.

If you play pick your poison then you can stuff this up easily. If you manage to play it before I can counter it, then yes. It kills it. Which is why I've been thinking of adding another temple.

Most awesome mirror match potential ever!!! Already happened once packing a single Temple in each deck, remember the big stalemate announcement? Gonna try build a "consistent" Temple deck

Gonna try build a "consistent" Temple deck I've faced a few Temple decks that actually have some win conditions. One carried a few Devoted Scholar which happens to be 1/2. Of course the 0/3 Claudia Auditore would be better for drawing. Also you can use his own temple to get 1 region to 10. If he runs anything else at all that can score you can win. Of course most of the time it would be the most spectacular draw ever.

... I've been thinking about a deck with Forgotten Temple together with Daring Experiment. The deck should mainly consist of card drawing cards and cheap ass gold booster cards. Making you empty your deck asap before exchanging it. You end up with all your cards in your hand and his deck on you site. Throw in some red cards to empty his hand and reduce the chance of getting countered :-) Problem is (like most of the time), I don't have all the cards I'd need to build the deck in mind... ;-)

Hmm, I not quite sure I understand but the main problem is that it would take a long time to burn through your 50 cards, even with daring. I've found that with forgotten temple the main problem is what your opponent is doing while you are preparing.

I played with 2 daring experiments in my last deck and I burned through my cards quite a few games fast. I used it together with red discard cards and archive retrieval cards. This is where I came up with the idea to use it in combination with Forgotten Temple. I don't own all the right cards to make it work the way I have in mind at the moment, but I will try this in the future for sure...

I've also drawn my whole deck a few times, but think about it for a second. If you draw your whole deck, you'll have answers to pretty much anything your opponent has. There's no need to waste time casting Forgotten Temple and switching decks. You might as well just win with what you have in your hand. The point of the Temple deck is to fire the combo off early enough that your opponent doesn't get to play much of his deck before the switch.

I see... I guess you're right! But it is a lot of fun to leave your opponent empty handed with nothing to draw, isn't it? :-P

Forgotten temple is fun to me if you pulled that off the player is just going to auto quit as there's no way he can win. If you play it early it's fun , there's the challenge of getting it down and resolved, then the challenge of fighting whatever's left on the board using an unknown sequence. It's hard to pull it off, if you come up against any deck with counters in it you may as well auto quit. But as a fun deck to mix it up when your a bit bored, it's brilliant !

A slow deck with full of counters is actually a great match for a Temple deck. The way I play it, is through Engineer Workroom. I run 5 and mulligan if I don't get it in my opening hand. If you play it at the start of the game it's uncounterable. Then just get to 8 to tutor the Temple. And then get to 10 to make the switch. Super fast. A counter deck has no chance. A rush deck that counters your reboots can ruin your day though. Site destruction you can counter yourself so it shouldn't be a big deal. That's why the combo is very hard to stop. I can get it off almost every game. The trick is to do something about your opponents 6+ at least 3 or 4 cards.

I think I may be getting confused about terminology here, I think earlier in the thread it's mentioned about pick your poison ruining your day. Antonio, giovanni, numerous media anti site cards, these are what I meant as counters.
