A large number of cheater threads have shown up on the forum recently. Facing an opponent who cheats can be extremely frustrating and most of us have called out people we perceived as cheaters in the past.
Since most players are unable to defend themselves if they are named on the forum, and since we can't take actions about cheating on this forum, we think that cheater threads generally work against the spirit of the community we're trying to build here.
After much discussion, the forum moderators reached a consensus. We will be implementing a new policy to lock threads which name people as cheaters. This is not a reflection on the posters of those threads, as I said, most of us have posted similar threads ourselves. Please let us know what you think.
Of course, you can still report any issue you are facing in the game to the official Ubisoft customer support, and/or add any useful information about a bug or an exploit to our Bug forum.
But saying "this guys might be a cheater" doesn't really help anyone find bugs.
In addition:
Often the same errors happen with the same people. That merely means that your and his/her connection is shaky.
Often it is simply bad routing between two ISPs. A long time ago whenever I (Tuism) played Brontobeuf, we would get a disconnect or out of sync, without fail. Now that's changed, and neither of us knows why.
Thanks guys.

I'm guilty of calling out cheaters, but upon further reflection I definitely agree that such threads do work against the spirit of the community. I support the decision!

Naming and Shaming shouldn't be allowed. Period. Even if they are cheaters.

Allowed or not, the point is that it just gets out of hand and becomes rather pointless. Thanks guys for your cooperation

Hi all, Raph here. Speaking in my capacity as a Admin on the Super Great Forum. A big thanks to dukebit for being so generous. Props to you, man!We are not pointing fingers at anyone here. Some of us admins are guilty too, of supporting cheater threads in the past. The fact was that these cheater threads were created partly because people felt for the game! We want this game to grow in a positive way! Yes, the existence of cheaters suck. We can only wait patiently for the devs to help us and get them fixed by the next update. A sad fact of life: Some players exploit bugs to get their daily cheap thrill. I was like that once, in the much older version. I've since moved on; and it's my hope that these current bug-abusers will too. We are growing so well as a community and Ringel's OP post was a reflection of how all the admins felt: that having these cheater-bug-abuser threads was not positive or contributing to the Direction and Growth of this Great Community. Enjoy the games, people! And don't forget to contribute to this forum! We appreciate your inputs a lot and it's a honor being able to serve this Forum.

I second ABXantos. That's a regular rule on the official AC MP forums and seeing that here really surprised me. It's one thing to mention bugs or that you think you saw a cheater (as long as that's not the entire point of your post), but naming a cheater just to name a cheater? Doesn't make a lot of sense. And totally ruins the mood.

And totally ruins the mood. As long as we are become aware that naming cheaters does not do contribute anything positive, we are doing fine. Most times, the reason why some players named the cheaters (in the past) was because they wanted to warn other players - essentially, the intention behind it is good. It's like picking at a scab; it's tempting and 'logical' to scrap them off; but it takes someone 'older' to tell us that it's not the best thing to do.

Lol, too true, raphael! I actually don't go down the naming and shaming route because I know eventually I'd just do it maliciously/to take my frustrations out. That's definitely not positive or healthy...not to mention it turns EVERYONE away. But oh well. I guess at least I'm aware of myself. *shrugs*

Reporting cheaters via Gamecenter, certain times, worked. Fact is, check names, mind them, report them. I have seen at least four different apps which GC cleared only first placements (clear cheating people, I remember Necronomicon at first days, other apps still not remembering atm right now), and I was perfectly aware some of us fellow fans tried to report them "just to see if it works". Don't know if this really works with ACR leaderboard, but, to be honest... How many of you have seriously tried? I played in games like Guild Wars, where a report is quite useful and effective... Maybe I'm silly in saying that, but someone wanna test if the "Report" feature on Gamecenter can be of any use for us, correct players??? Just asking...

Is there a report feature in GC? I've never noticed that. But the only case I think it's applicable to is for the current number one who hacked their high score - in every other case the so-called abuse is a normal usage of the app as created by the publisher of the app. So whether they're bouncing their agents every turn or making your discards fail, it has nothing to do with apple. Also these are bugs that will be fixed soon, so to negatively mark someone for that and potentially ruin their enjoyment of the game forever is simply uncalled for. Let's just put this I perspective and chollax and have a sandwich

If we are ordering, make mine a tuna/avo panini with a cold one on the side (preferably imported weiss or bock)
