Income 5 Plentiful Crop 1 Merchant Ship
Draw, Tutor and Deck Thinning 5 Knowledge is Power - Also for income boost 3 Quick Study 2 In-Depth Analysis 3 Ancestral Discovery
Discard 5 Divine Intervention - Also for income boost 5 Mysterious Stranger 5 Let he who is without sin 5 Doomsday
Defense 3 Impending Pandemic - Seems to be the perfect amount, you don't want too many and you can easily get it in hand. The card is pretty bad with out Doomsday 4 History Glitch
Win 4 Leonardo Da Vinci
Total 50
I haven't seen to many Papal Influence decks recently so I went back and put together a discard deck with out worrying about the discard bug. I designed the deck for the main purpose of the Impending Pandemic and Doomsday combo and thought I would share. Been having a pretty good record with it, doesn't seem to be weak against any one type of deck.

Interesting deck - quite heavy on the discard. Have you played against any good Scholar decks with it? I have veered away from pure discard even on my discard decks but you have a nice balance of income generation/gold generation. It looks like it would work pretty well against the current meta but would struggle against certain types of decks due to lack of control beyond discard (and pandemic).

You're right about lack of control but that's were history glitch is your friend. That card alone stops most rush decks for me. If it's not already in my starting hand it's usually never a problem to get one or two early with the draws cards and quick study. Against scholar decks i have found I can just hold a dooms day or two to play immediately after they play a card like daring experiment or in depth analysis. I usually manage to get rid of their scientific espionage before they can play it. Even if they do I have enough discards to play right after they launch something back at me. I'll also have a draw card for me to go with it to get card advantage back. As a side note I found playing daring experiment had a bad psychological effect on me, I would hold it too long waiting for the maximum gold. By the time I did use it, it was too late to play a winning card I got with it.

Doomsday and Let He Who Is Without sin are a bit redundant imho. Also, I'd play 5 Leo.

Doomsday and Let He Who Is Without sin are a bit redundant imho. Also, I'd play 5 Leo. Until yesterday I didn't actually have 5 Leo's. Do you think I should I remove one of the doomsdays and add him or just add it and make it a 51 card deck. Because of the income cost in order to play the combo and replay my cards I find the +2 income from LHWIWS very helpful.

I rarely play doomsday. I think he's suggesting replacing either doomsday or let he with Leo. I'd replace doomsday of the two.
