Very powerful.
All of them had +1 to income. (Faux, untimely, Court, every counterspell, except Marco).
The idea is to increase income phenomenally, slowly.
Back then, I used Counter/Discard. Discard removes cards in hand - while the counters take out threats that are not discarded.
I bid my time, growing my income and wait for Cesare to come out (Cesare had Official + Fierce back then!) and used Dante (3 life then!) to protect him. Cesare cannot be counterspelled.
Also. before the nerf to Discard, Discard was very 'evil' and abused.
Lastly, with cards like RI (the old RI) and Anc. Dis. , That deck was very strong. Anc.Dis. to bring back Pre-emptive ST.

I agree to the above, I like this card and wish I had more than one to actually test it in a deck consistently. I think I still would prefer Court Order however. Maybe I'll slide my one into a deck in place of Court Order just to test it again.

IMO, Marco will only work in certain decks. (ie. 5 or none)
My decks that have 5 Marcos:
1. Counter/Draw (U/G) deck: Max out couterspells (except Faux)
2. "Ghost" deck - a "officials" only, PP (media) super fast, Borgia Tower deck. (Dante, Grimaldi, Marco, Don, Lucrezia)

I agree, he's not great in ALL decks. And even then it's VERY tricky to decide when to use him - you have to predict what your opponent's gonna do. Which is also what your opponent's doing with you - wondering if you have another counter too. What a mindf**k card

Most decks: Court Order > Marco.
In fact, Most times: Pre-emptive St > Marco.
So, IMO, Marco will only fit some decks.

I believe that Pre-emptive strike > Court Order - ever since I got 5 I've been playing THEM instead of Court Orders. Works great for me

It depends on how the income boost/gold is managed within the deck. How the deck runs, etc.

Counterdraw autolooses to scientific though. I never said my income heavy decks are counter draws

Well if ppl are willing to pay much for this card they are welcome. But id wonder if my pre emptive political patronage and san gimnagno im gonna sell will be much higher. Also bosses from assassins wont be that cheap. Flavour cards allways cost a bit the 2 divine interventions i need will be quit costy. Misterious stranger and in depth will be quit expensive for an uncommon as well. But then we finally see a bit more the meta. Atm much is limited by card pools

I don't think Marco is going to be the same worth as tier 1 assassin rares like San gimignano and ezio assassin... It's just pure supply and demand, just cos I don't got Marco doesn't mean it'll be in short supply cos there's simply WAY more Templar packs being bought Unless Templar order rares are in a magnitude of 1/10 rarity compared to other cards, which I'm pretty sure they ain't (closer to 1/2 rarity if I look at existing numbers)

I have a question about Marco. I tried to look for the thread about what all of the different effects like safe and threat meant but i can't find it in the FAQ or the Academy forum.
Anyway: Marco's text reads that you "sacrifice" him. Will he still be sacrificed if he is SAFE? I understand the difference between neutralize and erase, but, sacrifice is not one I've come across before in ACR.
