This comes up time and again, and I'm going to mention it again too.
If I find that there's no way for me to win, I will quit the game. Not out of spite, if this was a physical game and you were sitting across from me, I'd fold my cards and shake your hand and say: "good game".
But this isn't a physical game, and I can't shake your hand. That is, in my eyes, not reason enough for me to sit through an already decided game.
On the other hand:
If you quit on day 1 or 2 because I dropped a PP or two divine interventions or whatever, then I'd be irritated, because you've given up without knowing what I have and have not, because you quit without a fight, because you are not respecting the game, because you're looking for a quick pain free win. That irks me.
I quit, I'm proud of it.
Cos I will play that bad hand. Cos I don't mind (sometimes) coming up against a papal influence that blocked 3 of my discards. Therefore I will quit when I see that there is no statistical way I can win (I will wait till the draw and hope for a court order against that femme fatale, if I had enough time to hope).
But please don't be a serial quitter. Thanks.

Totally agree. I would just add one thing, and that is it can be a bit irritating when you have no statistical chance of winning, to not quit, and then quit at the last possible second before the win.

... so you are forced to wait for another 20 seconds or so to get the victory that was due in a second. Really annoying!
And yes, I'm a quitter and I know it! LMFAO!

I said a bit irritating, not smash your Ipad on the table annoying I guess the reason I don't like it is I find it, unlike a quit as soon as it is obvious I have won, to be a spiteful way of loosing

Amen Tuism. I think it'd be easier on those who don't like early exits if there was some way to communicate with them, but I know that's difficult to implement, especially in such a fast-paced game. I'm proud to be a quitter too.

I thought you were quitting the whole game and my initial thought on seeing the thread title was "this game is in trouble if Tuism is giving up on it..."

I thought Tuism is giving up the game too lol. Everyone should quit this game. Bad ranking system, bad connection, terrible email spams, and they intend to sell the extension pack for $2.99, how dare?!! 0.99 probably would be expensive.

If you'd like to quit, it's your prerogative. Don't try and get the world to quit with you. Personally I'm hopeful to see the game overcome current difficulties and get onto a stable server and kick magic's ass. If it happens great. If it doesn't I'm not gonna cry about it.

I completely agree, Tuism, except for the caveat that if PI is rendering my discards useless, I bail unless it's already late game and I have a chance to dig out a win. It doesn't make sense to play it out if I am at a card disadvantage and them sitting on 5 points is the reason.

I kinda stopped playing till the expansion pack. The reason for that is - since market i was facing pretty much same decks, and playing pretty much same long and hard battles. Control vs control - which i usually won but not before a 15 minute counter copy discard dance. And it was just soo obvious on all levels, so i stopped. At first it was very entertaining, but it gets old since there is about 5 types of successful control. As a result i stopped noticing really original and fun decks around and stopped playing them myself, since they lose to control 90% of the time. The game is still great in my opinion, just lacks new blood in terms of expansions.

lol no this wasn't a thread on quitting the game, it's a thread on quitting a match when I know I'm going to lose for certain. It's called conceding And as for variety, I enjoy the control battles, but also I enjoy the rushers of all varieties. I don't play nearly as much as I used to, but just today, out of 5 matches, I played 2 blue/green noob decks (I say that cos they were over 60 cards but they were still plenty strong and gave me a run for my money), a carnivale/man of the people deck which actually ended up being quite close, a thief rush, and a counter deck. I've been playing my bouncer control deck, trying to tweak it. So I don't know, I don't think personally that I've been running into a repetitive field. While I do want an expansion, I want a competitive environment more. Like real tourneys, real rankings, real ladders, a real reason to think about "the meta".

I always get a laugh out of it when someone does this. I'm thinking "you're so upset with losing right now that you feel compelled to do this?" If you think that is irritating, wait until they implement a chat feature (that I hope and pray they don't.) A chat feature might be the one thing Ubisoft could do at this point that would make me consider uninstalling the game.
