Here is link at some screen shots of the new MTG game for the iPad. It is going to be available June 20th. Looks good! I know I'm going to buy for sure. toucharcade.com/

Duel of the planeswalkers. If you've played the ps3 and other platform's versions you'll see it's like pre-packed mtg - no deck building, no card collections. Fun for a bit, but not for me

Yeah, will probably skip it also. Who's the developer?

Hey, that guy's name look familiar.... See the top 2 guys? The first one is obviously a hack; but I suspect that the second one is a hack too: I could not climb about my current score; seems that it's the max; that's why the 3rd place has the same score as me. Crazy stats for those who know a bit about MtG! The max life: I did hit 9,999. That's the max that it's allowed for the game. I actually had about 12,000. I actually did 665 dmg in a single turn: yes, it was the same turn I had the "140/Toughness" creature and also the 73 creatures. It's a dead giveaway what deck I played.

How do you build your own decks? Got stuck with pre-constructed ones.

You cannot. U can unlock 30 extra cards per deck (1 each win)
And modify the deck with the extra cards, and cut down other cards. But really free construction has not been possible with duels of the planeswalker so far.

You can't. U have a 'big' card pool for each character then chose the cards u want. Yes, it's lame.
Edit : ninja-Ed.
Edit2: I bought all the cards. And the foils. Did not grind.

I've never played Mtg, I had a look at it last night but the 1 gig size put me off ( purely because I'd have to clear some stuff off). Is there a human vs human element to it or is it all vs the AI?

There is PvP. There are only 10 'decks' to choose and play against. For you guys here, you would probably be bored pretty soon. just a hunch. That said, it's still fun for me for now. Nostalgia, most probably.

Yeah, I think it'd be fun to see what magic is up to now (imba cards everywhere last time I checked) but no deck building makes me laugh. Even street fighter has more options

I loved MTG when I first started playing it (when Fallen Empires was released--not Alpha/Beta old school but pretty close), but I switched to the Star Wars CCG and never looked back (until they canceled that game). Now I only play every couple of years or so. I always love the opportunity to do a booster draft.

The mechanics where the best I've seen. So many possibilities.

Yeah, it's a shame LucasFilm decided to give the rights to WotC to create a whole new game when you've got a huge install base for the current game. That game tanked (I can't imagine why). Of course, Decipher went off the deep end when they lost the license, so it was probably only a matter of time before the bottom fell out of the game anyway. I was the number one player in my state & ranked in the top 100 for a long time. Still sad that one went the way of the dinosaurs.
