I've decided to more or less copy the Galata deck from the new expansion and so far have not lost a single match with it (most people quit btw...). The cards:
Direct Damage:
5x Militia Camp 5x Weapons Cache 5x Lighthouse 5x On the attack 3x Janissary Justice (should be 5x, but I don't have 5 yet)
Drawing Power:
5x The Discovery 5x Laboratory Research 5x In-depth Analysis 5x The Mentors Return
Defenses:
3x Constantinople, Galata District 4x Sharing Secrets
It's the most boring deck ever constructed. Breaks the game and most opponents quit out of frustration.
I have absolutely NO IDEA why Ubisoft has made such a deck available. It's almost like playing Magic casting fireball after fireball.
Just wanted to share it with you all... and hope to never face this deck.

Could you put the colour next to each card. Without a site to search cards yet, it's really hard to figure out what is in the deck

Nice to see decks posted here with new cards already!
I was already a bit worried about this, when I saw these "Direct Damage" memories in the list. I haven't played a single game with the new cards yet (still at work), but this was indeed one of the things I wanted to try out myself.
It seems very overpowered if you play this against the old cards. But I'm sure new strategies will be developed soon, that will be able to counter this as well.
Question: Is The Mentors Return easy playable? Or is it mainly in there for the combo with The Discovery?
Thanks for sharing and have everybody run for these cards now ;-)

@ Thest4lker: It's all Order/Scholar except for Constantinople (gold)

Ok I already see the point, and it's quite funny, because while reading your post I was actually looking into using the discovery along with the best 11 cost cards. This looks quite sick

I actually like Constantinople in there a lot! I was thinking of playing it with Monteriggioni myself, but this is even better :-)
Maybe play both, Because you can really spam the actions like Lightning Bolts with Monteriggioni. But from what I hear from your experience that might not be necessary :-)

Ahh, I just used this deck three times in the challenge where you have to use opponent decks, and was curious on the numbers to see if I could replicate it. The changes you have made are the Lab research and sharing secrets right?
Is it possible you have the original deck and numbers? I would like to try out in MP. (Just once, I promise) hehe

Lab Research, Sharing Secrets and Galata were not in the original decklist. Instead 2 more Janissary Justices, and the Scholar action that makes the next one a surpise (x5) and something else (x5) that I can't remember...

it seems strong now because you haven't met any decks with a good defender or dominant synergy im guessing.. either way it does look very strong haha

Yeah I've been quite worried with the new "direct damage" potential of a whole pile of things. I guess we asked for papal influence + and got an avalanche Let's see how it all balances... Off to buy more packs
