This is an enigma to me... there are some games that get network out of sync when either player uses a surprise (Knowledge Has A Price, Political Patronage, etc.).
I noticed though that I don't get this problem if my opponent is playing with cards from the expansion. I suspect that this happens when either player uses decks without any of the expansion memories (I haven't included the new memories in any of my existing decks yet).
Anybody else noticed this?

I've had it twice after I countered something with Scientific Espionage, but that was before yesterdays update.

Not only with surprises, it happens too with memories that allow you to take an agent from your sequence

Not sure how to deal with this one. It's the "network out of sync" issue and the OP is not detailled enough to start something useful imo.
What do you think guys? I can edit this into some sort of NOOS ongoing investigation or delete it.

It's probably a specific play of cards that causes it, or bad network connection. If I play a game of ACR then upload something on my Dropbox at the same time on my computer, I can often force a network sync.

Edit it I guess. If enough people provide info it might become something useful. For now it's way unconfirmed and low.

Ok no edit. Let's see where it goes. (technically, it's "high" as it is a gamebreaking issue ^^)

Yeah, sorry about the lack of information but it really is a mystery right now. The only other thing I can add is that I only encounter this issue when a Surprise from the original pack (Renaissance pack?) is the first card used by either player but it doesn't happen every time. Again, I can only suspect that it happens only when both players are not using any of the Revelations card in their deck but I can't confirm this.
Feel free to move this into a NOOS ongoing investigation - I just thought the developers should know that it's out there and it's breaking some vs. games.

It's probably the same as what I said in "[high][confirmed]Compatibility issue / NetworkIOOS" (http://acreedrecollection.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=bugs&thread=1529)
Since surprise behaviour has changed, if you play against someone with an older version due to the issue we have with Apple, it's just normal the game will run out of sync. If you play against someone with the same version, it should work.

People with older versions should be unable to play against people with newer versions in the first place @_@

Yes, that's the problem on Apple side Until then we can only hope people will upgrade to the new version when playing online. Wondering if we should put à warning message when trying to play online not with the latest version, especially as it fragment the user base.

That message should definitely be mandatory. A fragmented user base that doesn't know it's fragmented is even worse.

Why don't you just use the in-game news feature to invite players to update their app?

Speaking of which, my "latest" news is still 20 April 2012. Is that the case or everyone else? Never seen it update...
