First thought: poor discard, stepping on one of those 11 cost cards can break just about any game. So people will try include those, then noone will play discard, then people will stop using the 11 cost cards... Interesting cycle But then people have stopped playing discard due to the papal bug. Does that still exist? Then... Super synergy cards mean more focused synergy/combo decks, where cards build on each other, resulting in less utility. The good utility decks (able to deal with threats with good removal) will get stronger for being flexible (there are too many single card shutdowns now - sites don't score!? Thieves are unblock able!? Cards can't be countered?!), and that popularized "control" might make brute speed better (the speed now is super brutal with deception, the crazy surprise feast, and the insane synergies). I think the meta will just keep flowing and swinging, which is cool but hey I could be wrong right now, there's so much untested potential! expensive cards are becoming more viable, or in fact more demanded, so expect more epic battles with big cards instead of cheaper ones. All the damn deal with the d abilities confuse the crap out of me at the moment

Defender really is a huge game changer.
Like at first I was going wtf over Maffeo Polo turning opponent agents to Defenders, but then quickly realized it stopped me from scoring (and got bashed hard when The Champion aka Georgios Kostas's effect that caps scoring equal to their opponents score on any region for Defenders).
The synergy options now available are limitless and now older cards that weren't as great are going to see a return big time. The meta now is going to be a bit hectic yet open for many possibilities and we probably won't be seeing the same decks over an over as often as we had pre-expansion.

Papal Non Discard Feature is gone. I was almost tempted to report in on the bug forum. Loving the synergy of the new cards. None look individually more powerful, but the right combination of old and new should rip through the old decks. Really fond of the various discard and counter nerfs.

They're not nerds but solutions to specific strategies. It'll be interesting to see if we end up with a singular strong solution that is neither vulnerable to things nor fails to specific hosers

Well use discard where u can see enemy hand, and use the 0 cost erase 11 cost, wich is a good ressource boost as well.
