I want to propose a change to the competitive Sub-Board if possible. It seems that most of the decks are posted there instead of either; fun and concept, low budget or even under the general section.
Is it possible to limit or lock it down to only have the admins move decks there that they or the general consensus feel are truly competitive? I truly don’t wish to offend anyone but some of them either don’t seem that competitive or are very similar to others.
Some of them could be good and have in the past been vastly improved by people making comments. I think after something like that then it could be moved to that section.
There are so many decks listed in there it is getting hard to easily browse through them. If everyone thinks this is a dumb idea I will drop it. Just thought it could be a way to improve that section.

If a few argumented opinions are added in a thread saying that the deck is not competitive, a modo can move it in the fun section for it to be improved.

Lol, if anyone finds a deck that's not competitive, just pm a mod and we can take a quick look into it. Sometimes the decks can be really bad; but sometimes some new players are unable to see the concepts behind the deck yet and may have laid judgements too early.

That’s a workable concept I just have one concern on that. This community has an awesome, friendly and helpful user base. I wouldn’t want to create negativity by turning this forum into every place else on the internet if people just started posting “This decks sucks!” everywhere. And Raphael you’re absolutely right. “Sometimes the decks can be really bad; but sometimes some new players are unable to see the concepts behind the deck yet and may have laid judgements too early.” That’s why I wanted to suggest a fix because to me that section is overcrowded and posted to too early. Edited -sorry Raphael, didn't mean to call you some one else.

I feel that moving things out of competitive is less work than moving things into competitive. I personally hate administrative bureaucracy... So you're anti seeing decks that are "not competitive" in competitive? What percentage are those decks? As far as I can see, about 5%, maybe less?
So I think if we make sure the system is making sure people don't spam a thread saying "this deck sucks" but PMing a mod about it, we can look into it. Offenders (people who shout stuff sucks) can get public ally warned?
If that sounds like too much admin, then the reverse is even more admin work.

without matchmaking system we can't say anything about competetive decs.
Each of those decks, even fun decs now can have win ratio 80%. Is this competetive?

This is indeed an issue... I posted a deck in the competitive section just 2 days ago, which after playing it some more, wasn't as competitive as I initially thought it was. I will move it (as I already mentioned in that thread). Who am I to judge other peoples decks as competitive or not... I think that's maybe best to left decided by Raphael But seriously: Maybe we should add a fourth section or lock down the Competive section and rename it: "Popular Decks", where mods can move decks to that (have) cause(d) a stir, or favored by a lot of people in the community. I think this is also a nice way of giving the OP some credit for sharing his deck on this forum. Decks can then only be posted in the other sections then. I think 99% of the decks posted since Revelations are actually Concept decks, anyway. Who knows how they will hold up in 2 weeks...

We can run a deck of the week thing where every week we move a deck to the immortalized deck of the week section based on popularity. Maybe run a poll That actually sounds like fun

Defining "competitive" may be an issue currently.

Defining "competitive" may be an issue currently. I think it'll never be not an issue cos everyone thinks they're god anyway it's all opinion after all!

UnCL0NED and @ Tuism I really like your ideas and that seems like it would be less administrative work too. Just have a separate board and that you can move popular decks too and having a deck of the week sounds cool. I am not an expert on making competitive decks by any means. If there was a separate place to post a deck that looks cool on paper but is god awful to play, I would be the king of posting there. I am always trying new decks and 99% of them I always think rock until I loose badly the 5th game in a row. Having another section for popular decks would solve the overcrowding and could point out some really special decks, even though as Blind_Angel_(Juelette) pointed out is truly hard to tell without a better matchmaking system.

Yea I believe we should have a popular deck showcase that gets refreshed every so often, with the most popular being saved in an archive to be forever immortalized, that way its easier to see which decks are currently being talked about during the "current meta" (if there is such thing due to the insane amount of goodies we got this expansion)
Also I think that the competitive sub-board should have the new thread function for regular members turned off so only admins and mods can make new threads or move them from the other sub-boards as suggested earlier. That way we start enforcing this idea and get organized and used to it.

Well in other tcgs there are weekly articles by the best players with concepts or explanation of popular decks. I mean we could have all 2 weeks tuesday? Tuism's Metatalk. And on friday: Wrath of Revelatons with brontobeufs newest creation. If the ppl have time to write that wouldnt be such a bad idea. Id be willing to write one article every 2 weeks, cause that i can agree for sure. If someone keeps control over it, that would certainly help newer players, and make others realize wich decks and things are good themself. Anyone intrested in reading or doing that?

I can't decide what is competitive and what isn't anymore , certainly a lot of what used to be competitive is no longer. Personally I think we need a rehaul, I'd be happy to do it, the suggestions seem good!
