5 losses today, and 4 of them I just have to watch my enemy play, because I decided a deck without counters.
Wow lost to thieves, cause I couldnt deal with 3 early altairs. Lost to an high risk deck, that boosts income fast and then uses multiple copied in depth and carnivale Lost to san gimnano/hagia, cause my site answerndidnt appear, and obious i cannot pack in 10 site answer Lost to safe nobles, was close, but i was allrdy lucky with 4 magnetic personalities Lost to merchant guild. And my site answer gets countered.
Just so many things that can go wrong, when evil cards hit the field. Without counters u sometimes play lottery sometimes, if u meet the right or not. Discard is pretty nice though, because not so many 11 cost around and holy day around. If u. An keep evil stuff away from their hands not able to counter isnt that bad.

i just hate it when my whole freaking hand is countered Then maybe you are playing too many counters? Try something fresh. Go the site that negates counters and/or Piri and something original concept wise. A lot of people are playing surprise decks that make counters useless.

I hate having my entire hand countered as well, but the main issue is that it essentially becomes a race to see whether a piri or the constantinople site gets down first or the "counterer" gets his income to counter you. That one "race" decides the entire game.
I played a game where I saw my opponent counter my card with a Suleiman, so I just sat there all day and waited till I got 10 income, then played my Cesare and won the game with that one card because he could not counter my cards. Even though I won, that was not fun at all sitting there and waiting for nothing to happen.

You have counters in all factions but Media. It means that you can add a cheap and easy defensive card in all your decks. All of them.
In my main Scholar/Crime deck, I just play 4 Scientific Espionnage and that's quite enough to avoid the feeling the OP is talking about. :]

Oh my God, I loose to really weird decks, as soon as I do not pack any counters. Annoying when he can easily get away wtih drawwing cards. ......

Lol, Rancord I had a game with you not that long ago, Site Faith/Scholar Deck... you got rid of my early scores, but I dropped down one of my 5 influence sites (I cannot remember which one) and was pulling out a Field Study... and you left...

I usually leave when game winenrs drop and i dont play a counter deck. Every non coutner deck needs to win fast and brutal.
I dont care to much about them countering my cards, when its not sulejman/yerteban all the time, because usually its a good strat to draw coutner out. But if to many of those resolve its gg.
But I care about winners being played and I can isnta concede.

You don't necessarily need counters, but you do need answers--Ways of destroying sites/agents.
Unfortunately, a field of effective counters diminishes the effectiveness non-instant destruction cards.

But I suspect our deck would be very similar

Counters have always been an easy solution to any problem. Whenever your opponent comes up with a potential winner (site, agent or event) you can always counter it. Hence the popularity of Order.
The disadvantage of counters used to be that they don't give you any advantage over your opponent. You can't win a game with only counters.
But this has changed now. Suleiman gives you a 2/2 agent and Faith a 2 or 5 power site together with a counter as well.
As counters have been nerfed before (as they were too powerful) I really don't understand why Ubisoft decided to introduce these cards.
Counters should always be "in addition to" and not a way of winning the game on their own.

I dont think counters are to strong. (Cept sulejman, yerteban is fine for me since its bound do a single location). I think just its bad to not have counters in a deck, because otherwise you cannot stop actions. Doomsday, and everything is gone, because you didnt pack counters and had a slow deck. As Bronto said, you can overrun counterdecks, play smart build smart.
