From the given definition here, if you use counters, you're a counter deck, and must endure the wrath of counter-hate I think an inverse definition could be drawn: If you lose horribly to first turn Piri, you're a counter deck

From the given definition here, if you use counters, you're a counter deck, and must endure the wrath of counter-hate I think an inverse definition could be drawn: If you lose horribly to first turn Piri, you're a counter deck Funny. Yet, the definition I suggested does not say all decks using counters are counter deck. Notice I distinguish between counter decks and counter heavy. Counters for support/protection I don't consider counter decks. I'm starting my own list of pure counter players. I usually like to play experimental decks especially against what looks like new players. Then I can get hammered by this player if he gets his counters going for him. Next time we meet, it is the brutal decks for you my counter-loving friend. I'm ok with counters. I have decks that beat it pretty much constantly. It just means rough love from me if you like to play like this.

Nice one lurifaxb. I do the opposite thing. If I get hammered badly while using a normal/fun deck, I give this player the taste of my counter/draw deck next time I meet him. And if I meet him more than 2 times, I just cycle through my decks.

That is one way of showing them. Unfortunately that teaches them exactly what they already suspect. Counters are the strongest über powerful ultimate win strategy. Timmy gets really exited and goes back and starts building his own version and tries to use your cards since you are the overlord of imbaness. You may think that my approach is more humane. Alas it is not, for the meaning of my name is a trickster. A devious pranskter - and a bit crazy since I'm actually writing this. I would rather break down his world view and introduce something else that makes him think there is something wrong with the ACR world since he lost to something without counters! Timmy goes back sits in the dark and ponders what happened. He may decide to try to emulate what he doesn't really understand that hit him in the groins. He knows it hurts. He just don't know why. TIMMY! TIIMMY! TEEEEEEEAAAMAAAAAY!

Well for that purpose I have an anti counter deck, which does extremly well. I show him this one as soon as he rebuilds my counter deck. ;D
I think the main problem with counters is, that they are just boring.

I think the main problem with counters is, that they are just boring. This is only true for experienced players. For newbies or players that just completed their set of Suleiman / Yerebatan, it's a great feeling to finally get to use these cards. If we ever get a tourney, counters will still be there but I think its main use is for support/protection - which I don't define as a counter deck.

I don't find counter decks boring, and I qualify as an experienced player. Boring games are mismatched decks-- if I wipe someone out turn 3 with a combo, that is boring. If crush (or get crushed) by an agent rush that is boring.
Fun games are closely matched. Usually, but not always, they match deck styles: Agent rush vs. agent rush. Counter vs. counter.
Whether or not a tourney contains full out counter decks depends upon entirely on how effective a strategy a counter deck is.

Counters are boring when it's just a waiting game. Especially boring when you are playing against counters. You just sit there and wait until your cards are countered. Thinking does he have 2 or 3 in his hand? If I play 2 agents at the same time. Will one make it?
Takes the pace and fun out of some games.

I don't find counter decks boring, and I qualify as an experienced player. Hmmmm... you're right. I guess the word boring is subjective. What may be boring to one may be exciting to another.
