Very well done, lurifaxb. I think we have our first solution! <Novella Catacombs Win Route> 1) Wait for [MI] to resolve and get to draw one card, it’s an [Incite Revolt]. 2) Play [Incite Revolt] at Surprise Speed, archive gets shuffled into your deck, including a [Novella Catacombs]. 3) Wait until next day and draw the [Novella Catacombs], then play it. 4) Wait for it to be resolved, which would take another half a day and you win. Summary: Day used – 1½, Card played – 2, Gold spent – 13 N. B. – Is this about right, lurifaxb? Please do tell if I’ve made any mistakes. Can you beat, lurifaxb’s record? Come on! If you accept the pretext that incite revolt was played before what we see now (and thus novella catacombs is next card), you win as soon as you draw the card from military intimidation and deploy novella as a surprise.

=>lurifaxb: About your 2nd and 3rd routes, there are some technicalities that may prevent you from doing what you want.
- [Ottoman Janissary] only targets sites - The site you have in the Centre Region is a [Mosque's Yard] that has the effect of "preventing any agent power 5 or more to campaign". So, your [Cesare] cannot do anything.

Also, terrific job, Ringel.
Your method is a little different from lurifaxb but as great nonetheless. Congrats!

Too many things still in effect for this to be a solution: 1) Georgios Kostas would still prevent your site from scoring in the center region 2) Because you drew your remaining two cards and therefore have no cards left in your deck, at the start of the day, you'll get a stalemate (AC:R rules) Oops, overlooked those. How about this, much simpler: 1. Play Lassitude before Militia Intimidation resolves 2. Block Cyril and Altair with your Cesare Borgias before they can score 3. When Militia Intimidation resolves, you draw False Hopes. Play it on region where opponent has 10. 4. Play Janissary Justice and score 3 on each region. That should work as long as you get back to 11 gold in time. Cost: 20 Cards: 2 EDIT: forgot you start with only 6 on center region. Never mind, back to the drawing board. I was also looking at the False Hopes angle - still can't figure it out (don't know if there's even a way to win without using Incite Revolt or Catacombs).

In all fairness RingelT's solution is correct and does not rely on my assumption of pre-incite revolt. What you first described is Ringel's plan, which differ a bit from mine. On the other hand we have to make assumptions about drawing next card... Your call

By the way, even though I am in a contest with Altaem ("shakes fist"), I'd prefer prizes go to poorer players, (if I win any, that is).

=>lurifaxb: Aaah... I see. One of the rules says that "you cannot assume a card that you want was previously played". So, if that's the case then, Ringel's solution would be the first legitimate win route. Thank you, lurifaxb for being very fair and pointing this out.

No problem. I agree with Ringel though. Donate to a player who lacks cards.

OK, everyone else who's just only visiting. Why don't you give my puzzle a try and win yourself some cards? (Ringel and lurifaxb even waived their rights to claim their winnings!). Now it's the time to grab 3x[Political Patronage] and complete your set or sell them in AH to make a fortune!

Ok, I think I have another solution without relying on Incite Revolt or Catacombs because it's not sexy enough for me ;D but it lets you win before the day ends.
1) Play Discovery before MI resolves (cost: 1) 2) When MI resolves, you draw False Hopes. Play False Hopes at surprise speed on left region (cost: 9). Day hasn't ended yet at this point. You score will be 10/6/0 at this point. 3) Play Janissary Justice (cost: 11) before day ends while Discovery is still Resolving. 4) Block Cyril with any agent. 5) Discovery resolves and guess what? You draw another Janissary Justice but wait, you have to discard this because it's your highest cost memory... Score at this point will be 10/7/1 - Your opponent score at the left region becomes 9. 6) Finally, the first Janissary Justice (step 3) resolves. Your score will be 10/10/4. 7) Win.
Cost: 20 Time: Less than a day (You win before the start of another card-drawing phase).
EDIT: Corrected the final scores on each region.

=>coolkendude: Wow! Another route to win that doesn't involve a single [Novella Catacombs] or [Incite Revolt]. See guys, it can be done!
However, I don't want to nitpick but your step (3), are you certain that you would have enough gold to pull it off, since you've just spent 10 gold (out of your 14) on [The Discovery] and [False Hope]. Do you think you can recover 11 gold fast enough to play it and more importantly before the new day, which would put you at a Stalemate as both players have run out of cards.

I thought about that and it's going to be really close... I figured once MI resolves, you actually will have 15 gold or close to it and your Max Income becomes 17. You'll be left with 5 gold after playing The Discovery and False Hopes so you need 6 gold to play JJ before the day ends. I think you can definitely get 4 or 5; 6 may be a stretch so it's your call.
