Hi, sorry I have been slow to respond. I don't remember our match at all, but thanks

I second that. Lost twice against a fast deceptive merchants guild. Chose my plebs deck to see how it would do against your normal discard deck. Then you chose another deck Thought I could beat it with same deck it I got the draw going and could get Venezia out. Guess what your Piri killer works well against my 2/2 assassins recruits. Shut me down again GG. Always fun to play you. Next time I'll try a more competitive deck

GG And thanks. I chose the guild deck because you asked me earlier if my discard deck was my only deck. I got 2 lucky draws against you, normally the deck can't win twice against reasonable competition. Btw I think your Plebs would be very strong against my discard rush.

I think so too. I can draw a lot and get a incite revolt with a family heirloom. But that deck is no fast enough against your new deck - especially not with your agent killer cards

Also, defender is very strong against rush. My discard deck wins in one of two ways: Either I get a discard lock going for a few days, winning on pure card advantage. This usually happens if I get a discard heavy hand and my opponent plays a few pure income boosters (like den defense or PP). These games are winnable if my opponent doesn't have card drawers.
The opther way to win, is to get down a strong board presence early (Nico + Odai) and finish the game quickly. These games are winnable if my opponent has a slow deck with lots of "Overpowered" cards like Assassins Stronghold. But defender really messes with that plan.
Basically your plebs deck counters my discard deck on both of these lines of attack..
Tactless theatrics is a card I have grown to like more and more. It has surprise speed, income boost, low cost. I have even put a single copy in my discard deck.

I like the versatility of your main deck.
Yes, tactless theatrics is really good right now. It also hurts my plebs deck a lot. Due to the anti Piri cards getting played more, my plebs deck is less powerful. It was never a main deck anyway, but fun variant to play.
I like your discard idea and usage. You will also get rid of all the powerful (op) cards like stronghold early. Meaning that the cards left are likely more income boosters. How does it do against cheap agent rush in general?

I'd say a typical agent rush is a favorable matchup. But that might be because my deck is faster because of 5 PP; not everybody has access to that.
What often happens, is that I get a slight early advantage with Underground refuge or Mysterious Stranger. My opponent gets down a couple of agents. Soon we are at 0-2 cards in hand. The difference is, that my card will typically be a Nico or Odai, while my opponents' card will typically be weaker because my discard effects target the most expensive card.
So, in the end I have a bit more reach. I think it was you who said "you always seem to have that one card in hand that wins you the match". It really resonated with me, and I think the reason is what I described above.

That was one of my quotes, yes. And it pretty much defines all our games. A huge compliment to you So what are the weaknesses of the deck? I ask a lot of questions as I believe you have good insights in the game in general. It takes a lot to build a strong deck without using the most powerful (and op) cards in the current meta.

Thank you Weaknesses include: Big deceptive site rush - The deck folds to a deceptive San G. Sometimes you can discard it before he hits 5, but if he gets it down, my deck is usually too slow to win. Defender - I actually had trouble beating the first challenge in the revelations campaign due to my opponent having defender. That was an early iteration of the deck though (before 5 PP), but defender is still strong against my deck. Especially the defender sites since they cannot be blocked and my deck is weak vs sites. I suspect the deck is also weak vs Maria combo, but I haven't played that matchup enough to know.

Oh, one more thing: Ottoman Gunmen (or whatever the name is: The guy that boosts sites). They are too cheap to get hit by discard, so if they have 2 sites and 1 gunman, they can often boost them enough if I had a discard-lock type hand.

Ok.
The Maria combo is largely gone. It is not as OP as we thought - it seems. I've beaten it more than losing to it. Interesting if it will be in the tournament and if so how it does.

Yeah, I remember 2 bad beatings by Maria combo, but they were quite som time ago. Interestingly, I have considered a singleton San mercuriale in my discard deck (good synergy with Odai and other agents), but I am too miserly to actually buy one from the market at current prices

Yeah. It is way to overpriced. I bought 5 for around 200 pre-recollections. Sold 4 of them for around 1000 later. A good investment.
I'm not building a Maria deck so don't need it. Experimented with it in an agent rush deck pre-recollections. Won't work this way in current meta as well. So scrapped that deck.

When I played Maria deck for a short while it won everything. It's really not something to be sniffed at. But it sucks to play so I won't even bother
