This is my number one powerhouse deck. I've likely won over 100 games with this one. I'm posting it here because it's time I try something else out.
It's a pure site deck packing a near unstoppable punch.
I like it because its very relaxing to play making it suitable for when I'm half asleep due to earning my 500 credits every 19.5 hrs.
Easily beats:
Nobles, militia, peasants and thieves.
Tougher game but still usually wins against:
sites, draw, discard, mercenaries.
Struggles against:
counter, site rush
Auto loss:
Sofia Sartor, Maria Thorpe endless combo, own horrible starting hand.
Note: As I flat out refuse to play counter, this deck will likely defeat any other deck I field.
Income:
5 Basilica Di San Pietro (replayable!)
5 Sofia's Office (self drawing!)
5 Ottoman Gunman (very powerful, usually a bluff unless against other site, useful as a backup vs discard or counter.)
5 City Stables (surprisingly a key card)
Mega Punch
5 Pontifical High Mass (always get 3 sites in 1st, hope it's not countered)
5 Ancient Library (play at the last possible moment, ideally it will win the game so only has to score once.)
Draw Power:
5 Kadir (combined with 2 Basilicas has insane easy draw power. get out ASAP vs discard)
Defense:
5 Piri (ideally should not be played, get out ASAP if facing counter, too bad if a Kadir is already lost)
5 Lassitude (truly nasty against all agent decks, more so vs Lanz and similar, plus its harmless if stolen)
Filler:
5 Ancient map
Ideal Play:
Day 1
Basilica + Sofia Office, (new) Sofia office on Basilica, Stables on last free spot.
Day 2:
(yet another) Sofia Office, (old) Basilica, High Mass
Day 3:
Ancient Library.
Day 4:
Sit back and win.
I've won maybe 3-4 games with that exact sequence. Usually the plan has to be adapted due to having an opponent.
It's not uncommon to have 25+ income by game end and have 12+ cards in hand.
Most fun victories:
militia no rush but loads of anti site. Did my ideal play only to be hit by Easy Come, Easy Go. Laughed, rebuilt, got all 3 sites to 6 influence. 2 sites destroyed. Won with Library.
Many full out wars vs other site decks. Can be scary if their Ottomen outnumber mine. Usually outdraw them and Ancient Library is just that little bit more powerful than deceptive.
Watching lanz and co building to 10/7 before dropping a lassitude.
Play style notes:
My agents only ever leave the HQ to block. If you've had the agents come running at you that was my wife playing.
I tend to get the card drawing engine going first, she focuses on building the ottomen bonus ASAP.
