Political patronage didn't need a need and neither did Altair learned PP most definitely needed a nerf - 0 cost, instant +3 gold, and +1 income? Combine that with the fact that it's in the color with the easiest/cheapest rush abilities, and I think that a nerf to it was appropriate.

Not directly related to gameplay, but the profile screen has also been updated to include Revelations info. And the mysterious, impossible to complete "Sequence X" is gone.

I will give this new meta a try, but wow. Nerfs all around. I hope I find a reason to stay because otherwise, well, Ubisoft already took my money, and that'd be a lesson to me to know better than to invest in a game that looks like it doesn't give a damn to people who actually invest in it.

My question is - would you rather keep playing a game where everyone uses the same 10% of cards all the time, or a game where every card can be considered for a strategy?
I think, for me, this balance means we'll have more cards to play with and therefore a longer life for the game.

The changes destroyed my only competitive deck, but I still like the changes. It was pretty boring for the game to be won as soon as a Piri comes out lol I plan on persisting with cheap income deck. Here comes Torre Grossa!!!

Your assumption is people don't just move on to the *next best* 10% of the current crop. I've seen it happen in other card games before, and I felt it the first time ACR balanced the pre-revelations set.
It ends up becoming a ridiculous downward spiral of card quality when people demand Forced Charity and Funeral Pyre get nerfed next.
I was cautiously optimistic during the previous balance patch. Shortly afterwards, I stopped playing until Revelations came out. Now, Im kinda pessimistic about it. Like I said, I will give the new meta a chance, but I ain't holding my breath this time.
And Piri is untouched? Really?

I removed Piri from my deck. Too weak to include, since counters are much weaker now.
Also, I don't see these changes as nerfs. Instead I think they are massive buffs to non-income cards

Political patronage didn't need a need and neither did Altair learned You don't really believe this, do you?? Imho PP is still way to strong, maybe even stronger than before because all the other income boosters got nerfed too. Deceptive rushes with PP are totally overpowered now, because if you don't play media and PP yourself you won't have the resources to stop them in most cases. I'm pretty sure that Deceptive rushes will define the new meta and I don't like this even though I have such a deck myself.

Piri is no longer critical because you can now use your cards without fearing a counter very early in the game. Galata is more useful, I think, in this current environment if you really fear counters.

I think, for me, this balance means we'll have more cards to play with and therefore a longer life for the game. Agreed - playing the same cards over and over was too boring. The changes destroyed my only competitive deck, but I still like the changes. It just means there are now more competitive decks instead of seeing variants of the same core decks. So yes, forget everything, everything is permitted (or something like that) Omg I wish it hasn't updated now I hate this new update I think everybody who hates the update hates it because it changes the way they played their game. I mean, every one has a certain comfort level on how they played their game before but since the environment has changed, it will take a while for everybody to re-figure things out for themselves. I like the change because it allows me to use other cards that I rarely played before. I think the best advice is to just delete all your old decks and start from scratch. Relearn the game and just enjoy it all over again.

And once the next meta's two or three best decks are found, here we go again with the same old "problem", only with less powerful cards. It's a reverse power creep, and the only thing really affected is the Animus Point value of your cards.
My only bright spot is Holy Day now does what it was meant to do because they turned it into a Surprise.

My only bright spot is Holy Day now does what it was meant to do because they turned it into a Surprise. I agree on the holy day point. It's really to the point now. I don't agree that it's going to become the next 10% of top cards - the distribution of power seems to have spread out rather than accelerated - the acceleration was the problem in the game, and a slower game allows for finer balancing and having to really think about what you're going to play next. Military intimidation for me has gone from a nice distraction to an almost important card because there's not all those other surprises flying around dominating everything (Stronghold, while broken right now, is at least not a surprise 5 scorer anymore). Of course we don't know yet if the scene is going to be dominated by any 3 decks, but from what I've tried so far, even the fearsome deceptive rush is FULL of holes.
