With the latest update nerfing almost all big income boosters I wonder: What are the best / quickest / most effective income boosters out there at the moment? Have some previously underestimated cards become (relatively) better?

I'm guessing Merchant Ship would be used more. I also think that even with the nerf, Forced Inheritance will still be used as well as Den Defense. Slave Trade might be used more as well.
As an aside, I really didn't get the Plentiful Crop nerf - I thought compared to Merchant Ship (MS), that it was fair for it to be a 0-cost Action card whereas MS is a 1-cost card, gives +2 income but it's a Site so you don't totally lose card advantage as soon as it resolves.

Plentiful crop IS very confusing to me too. I get that they're making Dama rasa the only 0 for 2 booster cos its media and not gold, but the only thing crops is better than merch ship now is that it can't be countered by yerevaten cystern. Ooooh.
Other than that all the pure income boosts are pretty good now - slave trade is PHENOMENAL for pace. High profile assassination I'm using to great effect. This game is SO different now. Pace control and balancing is even more important now.

I agree with Tuism regarding the Slave Trade. That card vs the pacing makes it attractive again.

The cantrip boosts the templar captain are pretty nice. Otoman kinda a pain now with tu nerf.

The cantrip boosts the templar captain are pretty nice. I had almost forgotten about Templar Captain, but you're right: He might be quite strong in the new environment.

Can we use narrow escape as an income booster? It costs 0 and get a surprise+1, maybe useful when all other income boosters got nerfed.

hmmm narrow escape now is the same as den defence... EXCEPT it needs a target so can't be played at start of game

I think honest worker is playable again, especially since he still has a +1. Fishing village is also viable and it stops deceptive sites as well.

I put 5 Knowledge has a price in the rush deck now, which I didn't do in the past. Despite the extra draw for opponent, there will be limited resource for opponent to put the extra card into use in the beginning.

There's now a lot more balancing that's needed between getting more cards and being able to play them before the end of the game - whether win or lose. So KHAP is actually a very valid option.

I've seen some nasty KHAP and early doomsday combos in competitive. I usually like when opponent grants me cards, but rather dislikes it when they take all away again before you really had a chance.
