I think we are back to Borgia rushes and agents that boost when they score, etc. except with deceptive. Yippee. Just what the game was missing.
They won't win every game, but they'll beat the crap out of everyone often enough that people will gravitate to them. It's the cheapest way to be fast.
Everybody thinks that slowing down income and making counter prohibitively expensive is going to magically make all these sweet strategies come out of the woodwork but in a month, everybody is going to be back to complaining. Just because counters won't dominate doesn't mean there aren't 2 or 3 ideal deck types that just dominate anyway. The thing about the counter meta wasn't that it kept you from playing all this stuff that would have won without the counters. It just kept you from seeing how often it would have gotten its butt kicked anyway if people had been optimizing for a non-counter meta.

I am playing against nothing but discard, not rush.

I'm not surprised, ruggeder. The standard answers to discard (counters, and copy) have been nerfed, but discard has not-- or at least not significantly.
I've been too busy to play this week, but discard looks mighty tempting.

Order is back to being how it was a while back, a few counters, and big agents or buffed agents are the way to win. It's risky, so combination with Green or Media is where you should be looking. I am happy with a green/blue deck I have, it's one of my main 3.

@minitechnik: Order is strong, Faith is strong, just change the way you are building your decks. Right now, my best decks are Crime based...

What is the point of building unmixed decks? oO
The game balance is made around the fact that you can mix two colors... if you pick colors one by one, you will certainly find balancing issues. I see no site removal in Faith for instance and Scholar lack of attack power. But if you mix Faith with Crime, you will have this anti-site solution you need, and if you mix Order with Scholar, you will have tons of attack power for your sequence.

if you look at the single colours, there are plenty options that should work inside one colour. there's no particular point, except, all the colours should at least work for themselves. i'm certainly looking at it this way: in magic the gathering you could mix ALL the colours and play rainbow, or of course uncoloured - what could be golden here. now, if i were to play with only two colours mixed, they should work out alone, too. Don't really get your point, you're saying that you should be able to play single colours and get all the solutions? Are you saying that decks shouldn't have to go golden cards? Of course, you don't have to play anything you don't want to (gold cards), and in this game, it's their rule to not allow all colours, cos that would just be unbalanced as everyone picks the best cards out of every colour without MTG's coloured mana production problem. Comparing MTG and ACR is actually not gonna work as they work on different resource systems. In Shadow Era for example I could say that one should be able to use cards from other... er, characters (not sure how that works, only played a little) mixed together, but that's just silly.

what's the problem comparing trading card games ? It's like comparing apples to oranges is kind of what he's saying

Have to admit I don't play nearly as much anymore. It's not the card changes that bother me it's the server. Games take longer to find, I can't tell the difference between finding an opponent and giving up and games now play out so slowly I'm bored by the time I've finished 3-4 games.
Does anyone else feel like the game day now takes longer to run?
Lastly the lack of the daily credits indicator has completely removed that one more game compulsion, even though I know there's at least another 300 credits to go.

The game does take longer and seem longer... But I prefer it, i dunno why, but I find I can play on the game for longer now, there is one or two things I think should be changed (e.g. I would change DD back to +2 income, or make its cost 0... Seems weak compared to Holy Day) and a few other little things, but I like it now that you cannot end up with 10-15 income so quickly

@minitechnik what you're talking about is no longer whether the mechanics changed are agreeable or not, but their communication. We never said that they had perfect communication, in fact, that wasn't even a topic of discussion I agree, they can communicate better. But the fact is also that we know that they already communicate a LOT better than many other game developers. You try talk to the creators/devs of Magic The Gathering. See how far you get with that. Though I haven't played MTG in AGES, so if I'm wrong, please feel free to chastise me Speaking of communication - my "notice" thing at the bottom of the opening screen is stuck at "we have received reports of network connectivity... etc... restart your iPad... Blah". That was from 20 April 2012... Is this a bug? Is it just me?
