If you have counters yeh, if not it just slows it a half day. I've been messing around with a deck that works around cunning agents for defense and a little site rush since everyone is playing agent rush with official, deceptive/fierce, threat and so on Let us know if you figure out a way with Cunning Agents. The problem I see is that there are only a number of Agents with Cunning and is limited to Scholar for the most part. And unlike Unblockable, Fierce, Threat, and Safe, there is currently no card that can give an Agent the Cunning ability. From a quick check, it looks like Beguiling Courtesans might be best for the first day or two, then Fiora Cavazza (no Cunning, but neutralizes agent) and Amerigo Vespucci thereafter.

Exactly what I was thinking - plus, if you were able to launch her and block with her, you should also have the 2 gold back in time to play the card that makes an agent Safe, giving her a couple uses.

Doesn't really sound broken to me.

Media has tactless theatrics that instantly kill the deceptive guys (-0/2). This card is really good in current meta.
Otherwise sudden exhaustion is really good too. Just use it the last minute before they score to avoid a magnetic personality going off after.
For sites, I recommend role reversals. Removes influence as a surprise. But again media. Gold has a cheaper variant but without surprise. Power to the people.

I think you guys are on to something with the Courtesans. The change to Tactical Upheaval alone makes a Courtesan deck more viable now. A good one could wreck the Deceptive Rush.

lurifaxb you gave away my secret! Haha I love tasteless theatrics in this meta. Agreed

A peasant/trader deck is working out pretty well for me against deceptive rush, especially with Fishing Village to negate deceptive sites.
It's not invincible, as I've still gotten rolled a couple times by deceptive rush decks, but with a decent draw I'm usually able to slow them down enough for me to catch up and overtake them.

I agree. I faced 2 players today using Plebes vs. my deceptive rush and they did really good. I lost the first game where he was able to establish his draw engine early. The second game was a close game and I barely won. The high health of peasants are pretty good against MP.

Interesting. I may do a review of my plebs deck.
So far my modified thieves media deck does well against deceptive decks using the media counters and Antonio for site killing. Not a sure thing though if they get a good draw.

Often the deceptive rush depends on drawing multiple magnetic personalities. It's really as simple as that, the more I play it the less I think it's op... But when it hits hard it hits really hard. Such are rush decks I guess. Cunning stopping fierce damage is a good thing often missed, I have to admit Amerigo should make a come back even if he's smaller now

I am starting to realize the more I play that even that minor nerf to PP made a huge difference. I designed my version of the deck for speed and consistency so much in order to win before the opponent could even do anything. It wasn’t perfect before, but pretty decent. Now it seems people are adjusting. There are so many options with small agents that have defender or dominate that can throw the timing off and that’s all that at takes. If you can slow it down at all, you will win.
Edit – to add I don’t think Amerigo is stopping Deceptive Fierce Damage. I only ran into it once tonight, so I am not completely positive.

I dislike playing against this new meta. It feels like red/green deceptive site rush or purple/green deceptive agent rush is all I see and they are extremely not fun to play against. I would even rather play against the previous boring piri/counter decks even, lol

You can use an all gold deck and win vs. Agent deceptive rush and you can use Sofia to stop a Site deceptive rush.

Peasants deck works well against the agents, yes.
I've actually had decent luck against both deceptive agent rush and deceptive site rush using my regular sanctuary/gunmen deck, but that is largely due to getting a Papal Bull or two early on.
