*cough* Just spend a few dollars and get something interesting. That's the price of a burger or two. I'm not big into free-to-play models in general but I think ACR is super fair in its pricing.
Or you can just keep grinding for 75 days. Just saying.

There are so many effective cheap decks out there without the "gayness". St4lkers site (none deceptive) site rush, peasant decks, etc.
Deceptive is cheap in a whole other way than price in the market...

I just got owned bad by a discard/steal deck playing a deceptive site deck. Discard is back in a big way, I think, due to the slower meta.
But of course deceptive is just the quickest, most no-brainer way of going about it, and just like counters it's gonna get played with or without very interesting reasons to do so.

Surprise doomsday is also very effective (and gay).
Courtesans rush is likewise. But the pre counter players tend to have moved to deceptive as it is so obvious.

Well, for the record, my latest site deck does use deceptive. But because of the nature of the sites I use, deceptive is more in a way of a bonus "win more" kind of strategy. What often happens is I have one region at ten, and another at 5, with a 5 scoring site. Then you drop deceptive on the region that is already at 10, meaning a site block/kill on the region at 5 can't stop you winning.

I'm a bit late to hope on this bandwagon, but... My only use for deceptive is when I put Incognito on my Fierce Virtual Militant. Quite effective, actually

Quite effective, actually That sounds more original and not the kind of deck that we are bitching about. I also use it on a buffed up Cyril of Rhodes, but wouldn't call that deck a deceptive rush.
