Hello all, Long time no see
Whats the status on the game? Dead, dying, Alive and kicking?
I noticed the Revolution coming soon in the buy pack menu has gone...

The whole UbiSoft team has been reallocated. So I don't think we will see any expansions anymore. Just hope they still have one or two guys working on it to fix the bugs... but that may be idle hope...
In any case you can buy my 100k credits at half price...

To be honest, I think it was the Market that killed this game. Without the Market the game would be a lot more interesting to UbiSoft (from a financial point of view). And looking at the success of some other CCG's for iPad, it's not the Market that made it a success, but stuff like tournaments and such.
I guess it's one of those cases where we - as customers - didn't know what we were asking for...

At best they break even, but more likely they will lose potential sales since people can trade instead of buying more boosters. Many now have the cards they need so no incentive to purchase anything. What they should have done was to draw out money from it somehow. Like a 10-20% cost to transactions. They chose a very player friendly approach that was only a benefit to the players not the business. In the long run it wasn't in the players interest as they canned the game (it appears).

Yeah, they probably should have gone to a Shadow Era-like model where you can purchase any card for a set price and you can sell your cards back to the merchant, but there's no wheeling and dealing between players. With the gold cap in place for ACR, you can endlessly grind to get your cards, but it's a whole lot easier to just buy credits. It's just your standard freemium model, and it seems to be working well for them.

I remember suggesting the SE market as the best also all that time ago. I also think the high cost of packs killed this game though. No one wants to invest if they are uncertain of the future and sadly, it looks like they were right.

No one wants to invest if they are uncertain of the future and sadly, it looks like they were right. I never liked the fact that Assassin packs were 9x the cost of Templar packs. I understand selling them separately, but the large disparity in cost is rather off-putting to new players (or at least it was to me). Having to win 18 games over two days just to buy one pack seems a little much. Of course, I understand that Ubisoft would prefer us to drop real cash on the game than grind for credits, but I think 100-300-500 for the packs might've been more reasonable.

I started playing in December 2011 and have bought 60k credits at one time (early 2012) to get my set complete. That's more than I have spend on any PS3 game...
Anyways, after that I have not spent a single cent on the game and was able to collect a full set of the revelations expansion based on the credits I got for free (around 120k, yes that's 240 days of grinding...). This would not have been possible without some help from the market though.
So I do think we do get a lot for free by just playing (500 credits a day). And having to play 900 credits for an assassin pack is not too expensive in my opinion. That's a free pack of cards every two days... I wish I could have done that while playing Magic in the early 90's...
My feeling is that we got too much. Making the game (financially) less attractive to UbiSoft and so they stopped active development. If only they developed a real competitive scene like SE...
Talking about SE. I would have been more than happy if I could sell any card at half the real value and buy one at twice the real value. That would leave enough money for UbiSoft to make a profit on the market.

Perhaps it's more the cost ratio that I have a problem with. If Templar packs were 300 each, I might not've cared so much that Assassin packs are 900. I don't know. It just seems out of whack.

Aw, that's a shame to hear. I'd put the game down for a while, because I was playing Diablo3 with some friends a lot, which left no time to play other games. I stopped playing that a few weeks ago and was hoping to get back into ACR, because it's just such an awesome game! Played a few games the last few days and noticed there is actually still a base of regular players, which is nice. But hearing there won't be a new expansion anymore is really a shame. However, I can remember the announcements also changed around a few times before Revelation was released... But if Rob is right, it's probably just idle hope to think it will be released, having nobody on development team for ACR anymore... So what are the "Hipster" decks atm. I like to get back into it, and so far I've only played against decks I already knew or slight variations on them... I see the deck section has not expanded a lot anymore since I last checked :S Anyway, hope to see some of you guys online soon, again! ps. I also checked out SolForge for the iPad a few days ago. It looks interesting, but there is still no card game that takes advantage of the possibilities of the iPad/iPhone like ACR does, which makes ACR still the coolest iPad game out there

I like the concept, but it's pretty limited in its demo format. I'm looking forward to seeing what the full game brings.

I see the deck section has not expanded a lot anymore since I last checked :S That's easy pick the most annoying deck you can think of to play against and use nothing but that. It should at least include some Animus Reboots too. I figure I’ll still be one of the players to turn off the lights when this game finally dies (unless a miracle happens). However it's getting ridiculous with the players left. The decks I keep running into are seriously decreasing the fun in the game and my motivation for playing with it. I have my own share of cheesy decks but I don’t use them all the time.

Yeah can't forget those either. Definitely fun earlier which is also kind of sad for the current state of ACR. Only expect fun games if you run into one of the few us forum members still active.
