Dear assassin's creed fans,
My name is Lorenzo and I would like to know what you think of my idea. After falling in love with the Italian Renaissance theme through Assassins Creed 2, I came with the idea of organizing an Assassins Creed tour trough Tuscany, Italy during which we would visit most of the iconic sites displayed in ACII. The idea is to pick people up from the airport and sleep in typical Italian farms on the countryside. We would travel trough Tuscany on horseback and visit at least Florence, Moneriggioni and San Gimignano. Here, you would have a tour visiting the historical sites and following in the footsteps of key-figures of the game like Lorenzo de'Medici and Leonardo da Vinci. Perhaps we could even arrange to climb a tower from the outside with suitable equipment or have a "free-running" course trough one of the small medieval streets to get really into the mood.
A journey like this will have to take at least 10-15 days and to arrange this for a group of approximately 15 persons, it would cost us about 3000,- euros per person to arrange horses, places to stay and food. What do you think of this idea? Would anyone of you be interested in participating in such a tour? Please let me know what you think!
Grazie mille!
Lorenzo

Hi Pete, Seems like a neat tour, i think i would be in for something like that There are enough AC fans all over the world so why not Only concern about it is the price ratio, cuz if you would have to pay about 3000 bucks to arrange all this than you would probably need to ask about 3500-4000 to clear all costs and to make some money on it too... But if you could press the costs a bit i bet there would be people who might be willing to do it i guess

Great! It's good to hear your positive reactions. I'm off to Italy this weekend to see what can be arranged. Pete, which other boards would you suggest? Could you give me some links to popular AC forums please?

Ok, I'm back from my investigations. I found an excellent starting point for the trip. Two Italians, Carmen and Roberto are running a “hotel de charme” kind of hotel in the midst of the Italian mountains and nature. It's a wonderful fairy-tale art of place, you hear just some little birds and the sound of water rippling along the hotel. All Italy consists of life, noise and stress by now, so this place is a real exception. It belongs to the Genoa province, so the name is strange: U Rüstegu. Their internet site is unfortunately not a professional one so you won’t get a realistic picture of all its beauty on the basis of the site: www.urustegu.com . It is an eagle’s nest, it has its own small fishing lake and it is to some 25km from the most beautiful Italian sand beaches of Chiavari (there are several busses to and from every day). This place fits perfectly into the Assassin’s Creed setting and is an ideal starting point for back horse riding trips to the lakes above it and to old monasteries and to places even like Portofino. By car everything is near: Genoa, Pisa, Venice, Florence, Carrara, Lucca, Siena, Volterra, Montecattini, the Moneglia beach. U Rüstegu is close near to two National Parcs and even Neolithic sites. In a week or 10 days, you could visit all the historical and cultural places around it. You would be able to see wild animals, even eagles flying around in the mountains. The chambers are very large and you will find all the medieval and renaissance elements in them. Some pictures of the environment will follow
