Yopla, I said I would post something really weird tonight, and here it is: It's another original sequence. Not very expensive, but once again, Scientific Espionnage is a key card to survive in this meta. :/ 5 Plentiful Crop 5 Knowledge is Power 5 Heathen Follower 5 Mysterious Stranger 5 Amerigo Vespucci (I'd like to replace him with another ally, ideas welcome) 5 Salai 5 Basilica di San Marco 5 Scholars Den 4 Scientific Espionnage 3 Behind Closed Doors 3 Wrath of the Righteous PLAYBOOK 1. Increase your ressources. Don't forget to play and activate the Followers before you play a Knowledge is Power. This way, you won't have the unpleasant surprise to draw one with it. 2. Increase influence and score on one region with the Basilica (dropped on each other) and on the second region with the Dens (dropped on each other too) and Stranger/Salai attacks. 3. As soon as You got 10 on a region, move its sites to the second one. Try to keep a Basilica on top. 4. If it's not over yet, cast Wrath of the Righteous to win. It's fun, surprisingly strong, very stable and very weird to fight against. Gaspar (and the other architects) would be great in it, but I need some defense against rush. Amerigo helps for that, but also, feed the Tactical Upheaval. :/ so don't know what to try. Enjoy, and please, leave a comment if you tried it!

I don't quite get the point of the Heather Followers in this deck. Just to thin it? Seems like a lot of space on the deck just for that. Plus like I've mentioned before, I think they're too slow for thinning. They don't seem to have any other use on your deck.
I can understand using them with Art Gallery or Borgia Tower, or as discard fodder for that red agent that you pay 2 sac an agent and put an agent from the archive in your hand. There are lots of combos like that. Otherwise I'd replace them for something that supports your winning strategy better.

Oh oh.. I saw San Marco when I was browsing red sites yesterday and was wondering how you can build a deck around it. This looks very good.

I think the Heathen is for deck thinning, blocking and feeding San Marco.

I think the Heathen is for deck thinning, blocking and feeding San Marco. This. And income boost. Thinning the deck is crucial if you want to increase your chances to draw Salai & the Den.

Man... I love quirky decks like this! I'm missing half of the less mainstream good cards to build quirky decks (in this case wrath and espionage)...
Gonna replace all the ones I don't have with QS and see what I can do. Probably won't do that well. Only have one wrath lol.
I was looking at it all - how about Ezio to replace Americo? It does shut down Behind Closed Doors and the Bascillica, but is a big enough threat AND rush stopper, in my mind?
Maybe it's not worth the pain of losing Americo to Tactical Upheaval to potentially shut down 2 key cards...

how about pentisilea baglioni instead of vespucci. not as much power as ezio but got the recovery and some attack. well just the lacking cunning is a real disadvantage...

Very interesting and well constructed deck. I like this build, especially the use of Heathen Followers here. +1!

I played Tuism playing this deck last night. It is fun but even if you manage to feed san marco with a full wrath (that's what happened) it's not over yet and if seems difficult to finish the job.

It's quite slow to get started and it doesn't really stand a chance against a good draw as it's basically a run run run deck and has no answers. I had to QS for my wrath as I only have 1 in the deck. It's a major weakness, that And I only managed to feed the San Marco with a wrath once. But I must say it's super fun Americo is a great answer until Tactical Upheaval shows up. If it doesn't, it's almost a guaranteed win (against agent decks).

If your opponent is end game oriented, you may lack of breath in the end. But I don't think it should be such an issue in a majority of games. If it tends to be an issue, Daring Experiment is the solution for that.

No, you're right - the majority of games the deck performs just as the name says - it draws like a mofo, if you get the initial resources. Without resource cards this deck flips over and dies I think the best way against Upheaval is to see it coming and maybe not play your Americos But nah it's too early game a card to leave behind. I can't think of any other way to optimise this deck really as it's basically all one big combo and resource to get that combo going I did try Ezio instead of Americo and he ended up locking my Behind Locked doors and San Marco when I needed it. But without him I wouldn't have gotten so close to the win - so it's very difficult to say. I've ruled against it for now. fun fun

I replaced the Stranger and Amerigo by a 5th Wrath, a 5th Scientific Esp and a pannel of Engineers. I just won against a Cesare/Control deck with these changes. Have to test it against AI Roma & Constantinople to check if it's fine vs rush.
If I have good results like this, I'll update the thread.

It's just too slow, like I predicted. Also I still don't see the point of the Heathen Followers. I don't think it would pose much of a threat to a control deck either to be honest. You've contributed some great decks, but I'm afraid this one is a stinker.
