So here's yet another Clothes makes the man deck I've really been trying to get something interesting/outlandish with that card, and besides Victorinox (not strong enough) and Order I thought I'd give Faith a go.
Resource/starters/discard
5 Plentiful Crop
3 Divine Intervention (cos I only have 3)
5 Answered Prayers
4 Mysterious Stranger
Utility
5 Clothes Make the Man
3 Calling All Stand-Ins
5 Family Heirloom
2 Sudden Exhaustion
1 Mob Justice
1 Venezia San Polo District
Win
4 Papal Influence
2 Ancestral Discovery (cos I only got 2)
2 Copycat
4 Silvio Barbarigo
2 Forli
2 Animus Reboot
The playbook is pretty simple - Assess the situation, play the discards and strangers. Get rid of big cards before they drop. Heirloom for key removal when threats come WAY ahead of time (usually due to Patronage). Hopefully drop Silvios before reboot.
The interesting thing about this deck is again the Clothes Makes the Man engine - I use it as a resource booster (2 x Plentiful Crap is sometimes needed if I know I'll need to reboot faster than 1 would afford me) or doubling Papal or a backup reboot or double discovery or copying Royal Intervention - usually it takes my hand from being ok to winning.
There are times where it's a dead card too but then who doesn't get that...
It's called Double Down because half the time I have to read the opponent and my own deck very well, and gamble/double down on copying an opponent's key card or my own. It's a real risk when you're throwing 3 Papal Influences out there against such a Order-heavy metagame. But if I copy a Reboot or Papal or any other key card I can almost always be guaranteed to get it out, even against a counter heavy deck.
Anyhoo, suggestions please? I can beat all the middle of the road (not meaning that they're bad, just they're not hardcore counter everything or hardcore rush everything) decks, but dedicated counter and all-out rush (lanz) are very difficult to break. I have to get really creative against combo decks. Pan/RI in particular. But it's been done.
