if linking through bit.ly/acrecollection works the same way I hope people promote that, since it's easier to remember and also lands back here at this forum.

I'm pretty sure the domain name used to reach a site does matter in that if there are 2 different ones used throughout the web to link here, then they will water each other down. On the other hand, organic ranking will mainly (60+%) be based on search terms typed by users and the regularity they are found within these pages (when google trawls and reindexes the site), so the more content we get here the more you will move up. So keep posting guys lol

But the bit.ly link is the same endpoint. Why would google not know that?

But the bit.ly link is the same endpoint. Why would google not know that? Because they don't like redirects so unless the bit.ly is set up to point to the site at DNS level it will see it as a different URL. Do you know how the link is set?

No clue. Pinging bit.ly is a different ip so I guess its not DNS.
