I'm letting everyone know, I have officially left the 99 cent experiment with a purchase of $19.99. I promised earlier to pay some money when the next update came out and it has. I'm now moving from poor to ... slightly less poor.
Just some parting thoughts: It is much easier and faster to gain credits now than ever before, so there is no reason for someone on a limited budget not to give the game a go. It is a fun challenging game, even with only a limited card pool.
I am labeling my favorite decks with the 0.99 suffix, so I can keep them untouched as I move forward. If you would like to play me at a budget level, just let me know and I can always dust them off (or try out an all Templar common deck, if it comes to that.)

Well done Ringel welcome to enjoying the game to its slightly better potential! What I'm going to do is make some decks to play beginners with that are less imba, I'm seeing a lot of unknown names and starter-esque sequences, so this is going to hopefully be a) more constructive for everyone concerned b) more fun to mess around with Maybe limit it to less cards... Max 3 copies of a card. And less crazy cards like Cesare let's see

I do that. If I see a name I don't recognize I'll pick one of my older, less polished decks. If they look like they are playing a starter sequence, I'll even handicap myself by playing no counters (counters can be really unfun for new players, I think.)

Awwwww I'm still a 0.99 player and plan to remain as that. Crawled my way to #39 after spending 9,200 animus credits according to GC achievements. I'm left with 4 more Templar rares, once I get those will grind the 500 daily credits and spend on assassin packs. Love this game!!!

I followed Altaem's posts with interest. On the one hand it is nice to see budget decks posted for new players. I would certainly recommend new players use his as a foundation, modified by their available cards.
On the other hand, since I fought tooth and nail for every card I got, I find a little obnoxious being asked to tone it down for the sake of new players.

Deffo, I'll always play my best whenever I meet a new name but if I match up a second time and they are new I will use the Templar one

I challenge everyone to make alternate colour decks than the ones you're used to, it changes it up a lot. For example the Order counter budget deck is really very strong try all green, or all gold. Single colour is a good way to learn about the game... You can even play rares if you play single colour

100% agreed with this comment. I reckon that there can be a debate but the sentence: "maximize your chances of drawing your good ones." says it all. when I get a player with 100's (seen a few now) just think - 'one more in the bag' (still need to work on my draw though!) EDIT: found this game quite late.. got the iPad for Xmas and joined recently as a 0$ player.. not spent a penny yet, although I must acknowledge that Ubisoft really deverses to get some credit (in business terms $$$) for this awesome game!

Hey guys,
I'm new here, but been playing recollection for maybe 2 months now. All I can say is that playing for free pretty much limits you to order/media decks. Assassin packs take waaaaaaay too long to farm so it is almost impossible to build a good deck for anything else. I did manage to build a pretty good noble rush deck that got me to about the top500 mark but any decks with an anti-agent bomb destroys me.

He Darkfenix. The marketplace has certainly made things tougher.
Check out Altaem's budget decks. They are pretty affordable and can do fairly well.
