Is this how this is supposed to work? I've seen a few guys do it and won't repeat the method or do it myself because it certainly looks like cheating.
But suffice to say that if you perform this certain method you will get an agent with permanent SAFE, even after combat or -/- cards.
From my experience Dante's SAFE always wears out after the rest phase.
Is this normal? Is it fair play? I generally just quit the match when someone does it even if I have a proper counter the match feels bad at that point.

Safe normally lasts until the agent takes a hit. Then safe wears off in place of that damage/health reduction.

What's this "method" you're talking about? You haven't described it. I've never come across Dante giving permanent safe. Only Silvio Barbarigo has permanent safe. Dante gives safe twice now and dies, unless you boost him with other stuff like Borgia tower or militia training or something.

I doubt anyone here would exploit a glitch. Reputation matters, at least to me.

For me it's not about reputation, I didn't even play the citizen lock after trying it once or twice. I just think it's cheap. Happy to play powerful cards with weaknesses, I'll overcome those weaknesses. But cheesy cards are just meh

I know that I ended up with permanent safe a couple times while playing the surprise that grants a one time safe. I'm not sure what caused it and haven't tried to replicate it. I think it happened when I used it while attacking, maybe when I wasn't blocked while attacking? It's been a while since I played that card.

Yeah from what I can tell (not having done it) the way it worked was he used Dante's Safe while Teodore Viscari was popping his 4/4 and then, during the rest from that ability, used Militia Training and Evasive Maneuvers in sequence.
It's a strange sequence of cards to play when someone is in the rest phase so I thought he was throwing the game and just playing all his cards but he ended up with a guy that either had permanent safe or was bugged out to the point of being undamageable.
I blocked him multiple times with agents that had attack power and he maintained safe. Didn't have a neutralize card. The other times I saw it they all involved Dante and Viscari and some form of buff or modifier and a second safe.
I don't know which if any of those are essential to replicate it or if it was something completely unrelated, just wanted to ask if you guys had seen it before.
Glad to know I'm not crazy Gamemaestro.

I will be off topic a bit, but i have a certain bug to throw in too. It is a really rare chain of events so: i played Charle de la Motte card and temlar sanctuary after it. The opponent played tactical upheaval on him - so he became 1/3. After this i played random noble, opponent counters, and Charles becomes -1/-1 = 0/2, and after this he couldn't gain strength. I mean at all - borgia towered him, becomes 0/3; noble come in play, becomes 0/4.
Also random old bug. Don't know if it was fixed. When Montregionni get destroyed in any way all spells become non-surprise, even surprises.
