Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and was just curious about which decks are the best to buy? are you better off sticking to the 500(mixed) and 900(assassin)? Is there any benefit to getting the 100(templar) deck? it seems when i buy the 100 one i get a lot of junk cards and even the rare seems to be the same 1 or 2 cards... any strategy to deck buying depending on which cards you're looking for?

Shit sorry for the useless post. After reading through the forums I found a page on the 3 deck types. Feel free to put in your personal input though

Yay! Thanks for browsing further and finding the right info I think the only other advise to give right now is to not splash too much in boosters as the auction house comes soon in less than a month. But if you're short on cards you'll possibly spend a fortune buying up singles so rather just go ahead and buy some Templar packs to get your basic cards covered

I never buy the mixed packs, I' rather take 5 Templar packs or wait another day for an Assassin pack. Depending on the cards you are looking for...
5 Templar packs almost feels like a gift these days.

I agree And Templar packs are Ubi's daily gifts to the players (moved to gameplay forum and changed title to boosters)

I've been thinking about this, and, particularly with the advent of the marketplace, mixed packs might be the better way to go (if you're buying packs). This is because the assassins and Templar packs are distributed differently to stop you getting all black, and all blue packs. So, if you get mixed packs, assuming there's a 50:50 chance of getting a rare from either set, then the expect ratio of two mixed packs is the same as for one of each set. But, you will get a higher ratio of Templar order rares, and assassins crime rares than those who buy the individual sets.
Since most people buy the individual sets, there is a relative shortness in supply of the rares that someone buying mixed packs will have. So, this means that they will fetch higher prices on the marketplace.
This doesn't take into account the fact that different cards have different in-game value, and so the price is based off that, too. With the assassins order rares being pretty much all high in-game value, it may throw the whole argument off, but I thought it was an interesting idea, so I thought I'd share it.

On this:
1) the devs did mention evening the odds a bit more for Templar and assassin packs, but we don't have any numbers to back this up.
2) if you're short a lot of Templars, there's no way buying mixed packs will benefit you over Templar packs. Templar packs are cheap!
3) if you're short assassins, getting 50% Templar rares which will sell mostly for very little will mean nothing for you. The average assassin rare price is about 1k. So even if you get duplicates you can sell it to recoup costs and even score free commons and uncommons. Most of the time.
4) therefore IMO the best way is to get Templar packs till you start getting too many duplicates, and then same for assassin packs.
5) full out your collection with singles from the market when you have around 3 of most things you need. Singles are only worth the amount when you don't need 5 of everything.
A couple of forum members have tried out the numbers and have findings consistent with what I mentioned above.

You might have noticed that Rare cards show up in the start of the list rather than at the end. I think this indicates that they have actually fixed the distribution.
I'm going to check the numbers myself. My instinct is it is cheaper to buy individual cards-- at least for Templar, but calculations are better.

Right now, I have my full collection.
So I am going to buy Mixed packs for now. Heh heh. I've nothing to lose now. If I am lucky, I get an Assassin rare. If I don't I get a Templar rare. So it's all good for me.
Btw, noob question: how do I update my achievements in Game Center? For some reason, it's not auto-update.
I have clearly cleared most of it.

The achievement thing has been reported as a bug. Apparently the market doesn't trigger achievements, but it should.

A quick check of Templar prices, Tuism is right. You are better off buying boosters, at least compared to the "buy now" prices. It is trickier to tell if you can negotiate downward enough to save money, but I don't think so.

The market is not the cause of this bug. :]

I am kind of in the same boat, I have the cards I want for now except a few that are selling for more than Assasin packs. I had crazy good luck last weekend with the mixed packs. I got a PP, Leo, Femme Fatale, and Ezio Assassin.

I am still missing a handful of Assassin rares and Just Cause (only Templar Card I am missing). I nearly have 5 of each common and uncommon card; I think I've gotten to the point of giving up buying packs though and just using the market to get what I need.
