Well I thought it was neat 
If you tap the Versus icon and immediately tap Ezio's mouth (upper right-ish), it will start looking for a game as soon as it's able to, rather than you having to wait for the button to come up.
Also, did you notice that if nothing much is going on on the board (especially if empty hand), the game moves much faster?
