What's the general feeling about this card? It obviously has it's draw backs (can't target launching agents or sites, isn't a suprise, more costly than other removal cards). But isn't the versatility (can kill agents or sites) worth it? I usually pack one or two in for that reason when I am playing crime (which is a lot Btw, possible bug on this card: If I launch controlled arson against a site, which has another site already launching on it, neither the existing or launching site is destroyed. If I launch it, and subsequently my opponent launches another site in the same region, the existing site is destroyed.

Technically, if you targeted the site that's already there (cos Controlled Arson can't target the launching site), and that targeted site isn't there anymore, it can't be targeted to be removed... It has happened to me quite a few times, and it's REALLY irritating, but it's seemingly not a bug... What they could do is make you unable to target a site that's already got another site launching over it, but if you have Monteriggioni on the table then CA CAN target that site sitting under another site. Just comes down to knowing the game Re the card itself - I think it's a great versatile card. If you wait for a card to finish launching (agents more), you can usually take it out before it is able to score. You can even target an agent, block it, then when it resolves your agent will be returned to HQ safe and sound. Against sites, against a decent player you won't be able to prevent it from scoring once. But yeah it's a good card. If you have Ezio Assassins and your deck doesn't need the removal earlier, go with them. Ezio is bitch hard to get though.

I was waiting for someone to make the ezio comment, lol. If I had more than one, I would love to swop them for controlled arson. Makes sense what you are saying regarding sites, and I know how to play it now. I always work the arson/block on agents, it's waiting for sites that I really hate, espcially if it is a borgia tower or art gallery (and some others) because it gives time to make use of the special.

Memories like Controlled Arson always tend to get countered, copied, or - worst of all - espionaged (i.e. stolen). I do not play Controlled Arson as it is too expensive too play (risk vs. reward).

i dono, personally, throwing out 10 5/5 agent without clearing opp's hand 1st is just asking to get counting, ezio especially, though the same goes for CA, a 6 cost to a 10 cost is a big different, I mentioned it else where before, a 6 cost can come out while the game is still young, meaning the opp may not have the counter he need, or have enough gold to pull it off, that or they can't launch anything and stuck waiting for a big one to come, I lost count how many times I counter ezio with a simple untimely end, because by the time my opp can launch ezio, i gain enough of an advantage to not need to counter most of his agent since he's holding a useless card for most of the game, so when he does launch it, I actually had time to pick how I want to counter it, bottomline, their effect may be similar, but they are very different seeing as one can come out early-mid game, the other ... unless u r using leap or plentiful or forced to speed up ur income(which gives you -1 or worse if you are counting) and otherwise only run high cost card, i don't see how it's coming out anytime soon, and if u are holding it all the way til u can launch it, chances are u ll be put at a disadvantage, and if u r betting on it to safe u mid-late game, chances are ur opp can counter it since it IS mid-late game and the chance of those counter being there are petty high, these Ulti as I like to call them has to be play very carefully, best to bite out any counter 1st, then launch right after dark, so no chance of them top decking a counter to mess u up

15 Ezios here. I was so pissed to see him when I was looking for my 5th Political Patronage....
Whatever, Arson is great. It's quick, it gives a ressource, and it's polyvalent. I play 2/3 quite frequently in my non-aggressive crime decks.
