[Crime/Media] Forced Entry

Ok so this is the deck I used to use pre balance changes. Before the nerf to Lanz this deck just flew and it would often win very fast. I decided to go back to it and try it out again and to my suprise it's still pretty good.

It's 55 cards, I know it should be 50, my other decks are , the guilty party here is 5 tactical Upheavel, I don't need them in but it's useful, I don't mind it watering down the deck a bit as I can use it as long as there's an agent in play.

There's nothing pretty or clever about it , it's just a brute force rush.

Agents -

5 x Lanz ( The key agent, only had 3 copies before the nerf and it still flew , 5 are needed now)

3 x La Volpe ( Negates Sudden Exhaust mainly )

4 x Antonio ( For sites )

2 x Lia

3 x Ezio assassin

3 x Cento Occhi Foot Pad ( Income Boost )

Actions -

4 x Political Patronage ( I don't have any 0 or 1 cost cards see note )

4 x Clothes Make the Man

4 x Motivational Speech

5 x Magnetic Personality

5 x Discreet Calling ( The problem solver, low income pull a cento, a site pull an Antonio )

3 x Forced Charity

5 x Change of Plans ( Maybe I can reduce this, against site decks it's useless )

5 x Tactical Upheavel

The premise is simple, get your thieves on the board. You should be able to get early board advantage forcing your opponent to block and succumb to threat.

Political Patronage while not vital in your opening hand, its still best to mulligan if you don't have it. It lets you get a Lanz and a Discreet Calling down from the start for example. Or a copied Forced Charity, + 5 income after half a day and 2 replacement cards.

Clothes Make The Man ... use it on Discreet Calling, Forced Charity and Motivational Speech, don't hang on to it , your aim keep the pressure on the opponent.

Discreet Calling .... anticipate what your going to need, if your a new player you might be tempted just to pull Lanz but judge what's important first. A Cento Foot Pad can be a needed income boost and can fend for itself early game.

Lia and Ezio are there to keep on the pressure if the game gets drawn out.

It's not perfect by any means but it works, I'll probably keep tweaking it , I have an anti site version with Pallazo Della that I'll post later. Suggestions welcome

okay maybe its just me but i almost never see the point in including lia... id throw her out... and if you want to replace COP get a secret catacombs or controlled arson in maybe.

She is actually a recent addition, I had the agent which killed another agent on resolve but I tried to put it all thief. If it gets to the point where Lia is important, she's a 4/4 for 4 in mid game , then I'm stretching my possibilities anyway, I almost never use her so yep, I will exchange her , or remove to get to 50

This deck is good, even after the nerf on Lanz.

Get to 50.
Only one Cento is enough in the deck, as you only want to lose 3 ressources on him if you need ressources.
Lia is not needed at all in the deck. You have enough end game power with Ezio etc.
I'd play 5 PP and only 2 Forced Charity (it's strong, but slow; only good when you have a PP to burn and no agents for that). You want to rush.
3 or 4 COP are needed, more can be too much against site-based decks or clug your starting hand.

If I had la volpes I'd totally play thief rush. I've played against a few of them, Raph's one is like a good standard one with all the right and expected cards and it's DEADLY fast.

Lia is awesome, cause she gives back gold and has recover. A lanz Boosted Lia is hard to stop, because most ppl use only sudden exhaustion as answer

I have 2 lanz decs, one is with blue second color the over is with media. although PP-lanz is fast, lanz is slow atacker in principle. So the game is always go to the mid, in that case blue counters raver more useful then PP and MP in media. I have more wins with blue lanz than with media.

I would say this is much less a Lanz deck than a la volpe deck yes, Lanz isn't a rusher anymore, he's amazing support and agent control. I agree I don't rush with Lanz now, he's the entrée to the main course. La volpe though... Whew.

And I think generally rush's inherent inconsistency means mid game decks will win more often than rush, by numbers and statistics, rush decks with bad hands can't recover as well as mid game decks with bad hands.

My best deck atm is a rush deck, I think I post a thread, with how my decks are performing atm. Quit itnressting, if others add it as well.

I dislike Motiv Speech, and I love Bartholomeus in thiev decks. (Honestly add this beast)

Tuism, do you mean La Volpe is preferable to Lanz here?, I have 5 copies of La Volpe , do you think it would be worth adding more? I don't like him that much as he is himself quite weak on the field as he has no threat.

I'm going to trim Lia, I never seem to play her , added another Ezio.

Taken out a couple of change of plans and Cento.

Yes I just played an order thief deck, I lost, my first few agents were countered, then it was a tit for tat Ezio encounter. Certainly strong, I know if Id of have a quicker start I would have had a greater chance of winning.

I prefer Bartolomeo over Lia, and Ugo over the Cento Ochi Footpad as Bartolomeo and Ugo both have Threat. Antonio is THE BEST, I would certainly include 5 (if you have 5).

I have a funny thing about playing order, probably to the detriment of my own time, I don't like playing them In most games I play , I tend not to pick the most popular options ( normally the strongest) , don't ask me why as I don't know .

Rob (Roebidoebi) , I've been looking at Bart, he would be a Good fit for his cost but I'm cutting cards, Lia has had to go. Cento is there for the income boost, I can deal with him not having threat because of this, sometimes I need that +2 to get going.

I know where your coming from. Income is a problem in my Thieves deck as well (even with 5 PP's). I put in 5 Plentiful Crap, may try Cento from a card-advantage pov.

Well, for my 2 cents worth, I have to agree with everyone else on Bart, swopping out some other thieves for him totally lifted my deck. Roebi, the reason income is a problem in your thieves deck is your earlier comment about footpad, I found one or two copies of him essential.
