I don't know about Magic Online, however
According to my favorite on line card source (Card Kingdom), the most recent full size set (Innistrad) has 16 mythic rares: 3 are expensive ($14.95 - 29.95). 2 are slightly more expensive than a booster pack ($4.95, 6.95) and the rest range from $1.50 to $3.95 (about the price of a booster, which the site sells for $2.85, but retails for more)
Rares: 59 Rares, Cheapest is $0.25, most expensive $24.95 (second most expensive $8.95). I count 9 at more than $3.00.

I dunno. I don't think we'll ever be able to know true card value.
If we had a bidding system then the bids would start averaging at a general card value, but, with just a price point system, then whoever is selling the card for the lowest price, that is the current value of the card.

Yep, I agree with Jef mostly. It'll be damn difficult to find "price points"., nevermind tracking them all part of the fun I guess. I wish I knew how stock markets work with their indexes that they can say with certainty that this stock closed the day at price x. Very interesting.

Life would be so much easier if prices were fixed. E.g. 100/900 for a rare, 30/100 for an uncommon and 10/30 for a common (or something like that).
This way UbiSoft would not have to worry about nerfing/changing memories without a lot of people getting frustrated about their memories not being worth anything anymore.
But since everything should be "free economics" I guess our fellow Americans will flame me for even proposing such an idea.
