just one more word, based on this calculation, it is obviously more economic to buy cards in the market than buy a pack. BUT, of course we need someone else to buy new cards and sell them in the market, otherwise, the total number of cards will be limited.

(For Templar cards. I haven't checked the status of Assassin cards recently):
If you are not willing to take the time, it is neither more economic to buy cards at the asking price than buy packs nor more economic to buy packs and sell at the current high bid.
If you are patient you might be better off setting low bids and waiting for people to accept your bids, but if you are patient you are also better off buying cards and selling.

But if one use real money to buy credits and then buy any cards, he does not need to earn credits via selling cards in the market.

As someone pointed out, it is more economical to flip burgers than play the market.
So if you want to buy cards (for Templar at least), buy packs until your collection is almost full, but if you want to sell cards... flip burgers instead.

So if you want to buy cards (for Templar at least), buy packs until your collection is almost full, but if you want to sell cards... flip burgers instead. first of all, thanks for your free cards, I notice that you post some free offers regularly. Templar pack is acceptable, only 100, sometimes will have good luck. But based on careful calculation, direct selling of a whole templar pack, the average gain is 68(rare)+3*5(uncommon)+8*1(common, 1 at most, usually is 0)=91, let's say 90. Due to some random factors, namely luck, one may get a lot of profit by buying a few packs, but in long terms, it's losing (100 vs. 90). This is for traders. For collectors, the situation is different. If a rare templar is 1500 at the market, and let's say there are 20 rare templars, then in theory, one need to buy 20 packs to get the one he wants, and that costs 2000. In this case, I suggest buying the card in the market, and try to bargain. If it is 2500, then buy packs. These are only theories, random factors play an important role here. And I must say, no rare templar card sold at 1500 so far. I keep track of the price.

The direct sell calculation works-- but only if you sell immediately to the highest bidder. If you are trying to get a collection of cards you need to look at the buy price, not the sell price.
Once you are trying to collect a few individual cards, you are correct, you should buy them. But when you are trying to collect a whole lot of cards, packs are much better than individual buys, since the per card buy price is above 100 not below.
For the same reason selling fast in bulk isn't profitable (average sell price below 100) buying fast in bulk isn't profitable (average buy price above 100).

Note, that over the last couple of days I've been buying and selling Templar packs (don't ask, I'm bored) and making money at it (not a lot. A couple hundred a day). There's a payoff between time and cost. If you plan to sell as soon as you buy you wont make money-- if you could then you would do it and make tons of cash really fast, but soon the prices would drop too low. You have to offer at a profitable price and be patient.
So the buy now price isn't a good measure of what you can sell cards for if you are reasonably patient, and the sell now price isn't a good measure of what you can buy cards for if you are reasonably patient either.
However, if you want to fill out your collection, buy packs.
(Disclaimer: all of this refers to Templar cards. I haven't done the math for Assassin cards)

I just did a more careful calculation:
there are 42 rare templar cards. The most expensive one is cesare, at around 900 (sellers' offers). If the chance of getting any rare templar cards in the templar pack is the same, and if you are a man with average luck, then you need to buy 42 packs to get 1 cesare, that's 4200 credits. If you sell all other cards in the 42 packs (around 90 each pack), you wil get 2880=42*90-900(let's still use the sellers' offers in this case), and your total expense is 4200-2880=1320, which is still higher than buying the card at sellers' offers.
cesare is the most expensive, not to mention other less expensive cards.

Right now I am still collecting cards, need to perfect my calculation to see which way I should go
