I'm playing courtesans, finally got the cards I needed for it not superpowerful at all but super fun I've been playing variations of what you call card advantage for a long long time already too staple-y, but yes very strong.

I'm testing out black/green control. I'm still playing beefed up versions of my older decks too.

Well if my enemy plays a certain deck he wins against me and I cannot do anything about it.

Like Ringel, black/green, although that has been my flavor of the month for a while now. I've just been able to make it a little more consistent now. It's kinda a draw deck, kinda a control deck, kinda a toolbox, using quick study and discreet calling to pull out a auditore, ezio assassin, secret catacombs, assassins guild etc. depending on what I am facing.

Isn't it too slow?

It's not as fast as your black/pp deck, which im sure would kick my ass, but it's versatile enough to recover from almost any start. It can get a bit rough against a good rush, but I find that even then I pull of a win about 80% of the time. I win against order rushes, borgia art/combo's, everything (not saying I never loose, obv. Just I get good wins against some strong decks built around those). It's one of the reasons I love playing it, I can't tell you how many games I have won where the opponent is one score on one region from winning, for 2-3 days before I win. Keeps it interesting ;p
The only decks I have a consistent problem with are strong decks built around AD, as I still only have one scientific espionage.

Ideal start is KIP, discreet calling (for my one footpad), forced charity, play the footpad, discreet calling to fetch a card based on opponents play. Footpad blocks, auditore kills agent, then blocks (or other auditore kills site, blocks). Then drop a in depth analysis, and grind opponents cards down with threat/ ezio/ assassin guild/ catacombs/ COP. Win with 5 unused cards in hand. Blue counter can be a bit of a hassle, ;p if they start dropping untimely ends on my early agents, but unless they are very, very fast I win with draw power.

I've been stuck refining my merchant guild deck recently, trying variations with Green/PP vs. Green/Blue. I'm hit and miss now that everyone is featuring an AD deck. There have been a lot of Discard variations I've played against lately also post AH

I play nicodeck, finaly i have all cards. And variation on that, but with faith discard and AD.
only i added, new for this classic decks is Gimignano in both decks.
Gimignano gaves me advantage, offen i win only with it. But i don't undestant how these decks work. Both decks are worse then romulus rush, even with good starting hand, opponent could netralize all my threats. and PP-Copernicus, not good at all.
will try further, my be return to classic decklist without giminagno
