Hi, new player here, learning the ropes from this very useful forum... i got a question about Cappella Sistina: If you control this region, Opponent cannot score in it. What does that mean? do you have to score in that region first before putting down the Cappella? he can't score anymore using his site but can still score using agents? thanks...

As far as I know, it means, once your score in the region is 10, your opponent cannot score there. I've never tested it though.

Yes, controlling a region means having a score of 10 in a region when your opponent has less than 10 in that same region. When you control a region it is kind of outlined in red.
Once you have control of the region with Capella Sistina in play, your opponent cannot score in that region by any method (agent, site, or direct scoring like Papal Influence) unless he first gets rid of Capella Sistina.

That's the theory, has anyone tested it? I have heard people say it doesn't work and that papal influence will still score...

Huh. No, I haven't tested direct scoring against it. I have tested agents and sites, though. Direct scoring SHOULDN'T work against it. I'll be on the lookout for that. Thanks for the tip.

This one has confused me as well. If that is how it works: Pointless. I've never lost a region I had control of.
Usually there is only one region that matters in the game. I cede one to the opponent, he cedes one to me, and we battle for the contested one. If he can knock me off the one he's ceded, well, he's already won.

Nonono
Many decks of mine take control back from an opponent. Late bloomer decks. Control decks. You think holding onto site control is easy? It's not always. I do agree generally it's not as effective as a card that wins you influence but it has its niche purpose, perhaps in the right deck.

I wonder which deck that is. I love playing cards you hardly ever see effectively.

Me too, that's why I worked on pietro Rossi decks and pandemic decks and false hope decks sometimes they work out sometimes they dont
