[urgent][fixed] Discard & Papal Influence

Papal Influence cannot be discarded, with any form of discard.

i had a starthand with 2 DI and a KIP. i played KIP first. then i played my DI. the next rounds and with KIP i drew my other 3 DI (i know that sounds VERY unlikely). i played all of them while my opponent played some churches... then i noticed he didnt lose a single card from my DIs... only my last DI managed to get 1 card. i made a screenshot of the archive to proof that.

Suddenly, Divine Intervention becomes less appealling. ^^

That said, I always check card count when I play discard, and I never faced any issue playing DI (and I play it a lot). So the bug must be exotic and hard to reproduce. Could you share more details maybe? I know you already gave a lot.

well i just chained everything... look at my enemys field he played only his few sites. nothing more happend. you can see the whole game on the screenshot. every card played is there. you also can guess the exact order in which the cards where playd cant give you more. only thing you cant know is that i played KIP first of all but said that alrdy^^

Think there are some strange things going on, when u have to choose a card from the carousel while the list of cards in the carousel is changing. E.g. select card to discard when Machiavelli comes into play while getting a new card because of a new turn. Sometimes it happens that the card i select doesn't get discarded. Also had the impression sometimes no card is discarded when my opponent plays ancestral discovery or answered prayers.

Have done a little bit of testing with machiavelli and I'm able play it without discard in like 3 of 10 cases. Not sure what makes it happen. Seems it somehow depends on the number of cards on your hand / the "cost position" of the new/selected card. If the new card is the cheapest one it seems to never happen. If you select the most expensive one its more likely you wont get a discard.

But as DI doesnt involve caroussel action, perhaps the caroussel thing is also a missguess Maybe discard has some problems when it triggers with the new turn?

i didnt even play it so that it resolved when he draws cards. it was the beginning. no need to time them

Think i can repoduce it now. It happens when papal influence is selected as card to discard. Dont know if other cards are affected too. Think i read something about site targenting related bugs somewhere. Could also explain manas problem if his opponents most expensive card was papal.

just had a match where my opponent played DI on me while papal was my highest card: no discard. also immunity to mysterious stranger

yay that might also clear my AD bug where i wanted to pick out 2 papals!

Yeah, suddenly it makes sence. I failed to grab a Papal today with a Benvenuto. Updated title to reflect that it may be related to this single card.

I can confirm that it is Papal Influence. Ive noticed lately that no discard cards can force me to lose papal influence.

I did a Doomsday, and the guy got 1 card left in hand after it. Guess what... a Papal Influence. :]

Does mysterious stranger also get immunity?

if u are refering to my post: nope. just wanted to point out that PI is also immune mysterious strangers discard effect. sry if my english isnt always that clear;)
