Hey, it's probably old news to many but, if you just made a deck and unsure how it will play out vs PvP, not sure if there is enough balance of income boosters, fatty cards, whether cards have synergy, etc, Play vs the AI first.

Definitely good advice. I've played decks through most of the AI to see how well they do vs a variety of strategies.

I try all my decks against the last AI decks, starting with Venezia and ending with the Constantinople one. You have draw rush, sites, nobles, thieves, steal and militants. Perfect for a quick check.

I disagree. There's no point in doing this. I try them out online against humans. For one it's a much better test, but more importantly since there's no penalty for losing, there's no reason not to do it. Even with a test deck you still have a chance to win, which will get you closer to the 15 win per day goal. So unless you're trying to save your ego, don't do this. It's a waste of time (you'll get nothing if you beat the AI).

Well in the online match you'll play against what's automatically pitched at you. And recently it's been eerily mirroring half the time. Or just everyone plays blue. (that said I've had eerie mirrors with discards, borgia tower, forgotten temple decks too) (yes bronto I know you don't believe it ) Playing through some of the AI gives you a bigger variety of decks to face and practice to see which situations are you likely to run into trouble with. I wouldn't do it all day long, though. In fact just fast-forward through half the game, and see what happens. I do agree I prefer online matches, it's much more intense

That allows me to see how my draws are, deep into the game. Sometimes I purposely muddle up a little, casting out redundant spells and see what my later draws are. Or I pretend I didn't draw the key card and see when the next Key card comes along, etc. Can't do that in a real game, my opponent would wipe me out first.

Those are fair points and valid reasons to go with the AI. I still prefer to duke it out for real, so sometimes you'll see me crash and burn with some test decks.

Plus you can do this when you don't have an internet connection. Honestly, that's why I played the AI so much. You can get minor exp rewards and there's an achievement for winning 100 games in story mode.

The exp is only for 2 rounds vs the same AI opponent I think. ie. each area you can only play twice and that's it. No more exp gain will be given.
