Just want to put this up. With all the media copy effects, you have so many cards that you can counter with it, since it all costs 0.

yep, this has happend to me when i use copy's, though I think the majority of players don't use copy's that often so is it worth throwing in faux pas for this?

Well there are enough targets for countering atm. Dante/by order/discret/teodoro/Heathen/daring experiment/divine intervention and so on.

Copying decks are becoming a lot more common. I think that it'll be a sideboard type card for tournament play if that ever gets set up. If you're going to play someone who you think will be playing a copy deck you throw in some faux pas

Faux pas without income boost is really underpowered IMHO. Each time when I counter all these 1st turn Plentiful craps and so on I thinhk: "Yes, i did it! And now what? I have no edge at all... So what for I put this card in my deck?" Sideboard against Copydecks? It's effect is too small to cause.

The point is that you know your faux pas is coming and your opponent was counting on their gold from plentiful crap. You can possibly income-screw them.
But yeah it's not the BEST card ever. It's just good for certain strategies.

2-3 copies can do alot, if u have a deck where u can draw cards or use cards u cannot use otherwise. But atm no deck plays without 0 or 1 cost cards.

I tried using faux-pas but decided it was rubbish and took it out.

What Ian said. You got a card for a card. Same cost, no income booster on each side. Now what? Maybe in a very agressive deck that can empty its hand for 0 cost (and slow down the opp with Faux-Pas) it can be ok. But even so, I don't want to draw this card mid game.

I've never actually played faux pas, but I had just played a game against someone who was copying AD with clothes and pulling clothes out each time right before I read this thread. Faux pas is situational in my opinion and would be good for that (or someone playing aux ego or copycat). It would also be good if animus is a key part of a control strategy and you hate DI. It has a place in my opinion (i have had people faux pas DI and I think it's a great trade for them). Maybe not a place in my decks quote yet, but you never know.

I still say if it were zero cost it would be a great balanced first turn card. Balanced. Not OP.

my deck has a couple of copying cards, but its mostly to bring out "copies" of cards I already (very rarely do I use them to copy opponents cards with the exception of using Clothes make a man because all my actions are surprises)
ex: Cesare + Auxiliary Ego is my basic Cesare Swarm Combo. I only keep two Cesares in my deck but have 3 Auxiliary for an additional 3 theoretical Cesares that are cost 6 instead of 10 (and also can't be countered by Faux Pas because He resolves as a Surprise). Since the entire combo is a surprise its uncounterable and will resolve no matter what.
However Faux Pas can destroy an Ezio Assassin copy swarm (Copycat and Auxiliary Ego copies). I was destroyed a while ago by that.
Point is: Faux pas does have an upper hand on copy cards, so long as the cards being copied aren't surprises like Cesare.

Yes, I agree +1 Income or Zero cost at least make Faux-Pas not less situational but playable
