This is a Templar only deck built for those who want a strong deck but don't have the funds to access expensive Assassin cards.
I used this deck from 200th overall until 25th achieving a 75% win rate. I've moved on to other decks now, but my wife still uses this one as her primary choice.
I wanted a deck where Carlo Grimaldi was the hero rather than his usual role as a support card in a Noble rush.
Core:
5 x Carlo Grimaldi (obviously)
5 x Tactical Upheaval
5 x By Order of the King
5 x Borgia Tower
Income:
5 x Dama Rossa
5 x Forced Inheritance
Additional Punch:
5 x Experienced City Guide
5 x Uberto Alberti
5 x Calling All Stand Ins
Counter:
5 x Court Order
I haven't priced the cards, but the total cost should be between 1000 and 2000 credits.
Other options tried (and failed):
Teodor Viscardi / Dante Moro: too weak to replace either Income or Punch.
Motivational Speech: Powerful in theory and won me a couple of games. More often my hand choked and the game was lost.
Art Gallery: Just trust me here. You want the Borgia Tower and only the Borgia Tower. This isn't a Noble Rush deck.
Man of the People: Ran this at first before switching to Calling all Stand Ins. More punch than required, and less versatile.
Playstyle:
This isn't a rush deck. It works by providing a consistent threat that overcomes your opponent's defences by powering straight through them. Always go head to head on the regions they're trying to score in. You can mop up later once you have a spare power 10 Carlo.
Always play income cards if available. Once income has got to around 8 you'll be unleashing an endless wave of high threat but cheap agents. Expect your first 2 Carlos to be countered. It doesn't make a difference, you've always got another one ready.
Conserve your Court Orders, you'll need them to prevent late game nukes.
Weaknesses:
Not the fastest deck, can be out rushed.
Struggles against all site decks.
Can survive individual counters but anything that clears the board is almost impossible to beat.
