Edit: this is a duplicate of the papal influence discard bg.
I have played in a few matches recently when this happened:
I played Doomsday right after the day counter moved to the left of the screen to make sure it would wipe my opponents hand and his newly drawn card.
Doomsday hit but it still showed as of the opponent had 2 cards in hand (which he did not, he never playe anything). Needless to say I was a bit like WTF?!
I played a few more discard cards after that and his counter stayed at 2...even when I didn't discard lock him and he, in fact, drew a card it still remained at 2.
-Each time I played Doomsday and the big happened, the opponents had 3-6 cards In hand. The latest was against Designresearcher.

I'm going to stick my neck out and suggest this is the Palpal influence bug, could it be this, was your opponent playing faith?

He was playing Ordsr/Faith I believe. But no Papals played. Just Churches. I'll go read that thread again.

Hmmm. It would appear to be the same just with Doomsday instead of DI. Either way, same concept. Sorry about that^^ remove if you'd like

What you have experience would suggest that doomsday is bugged but there's not been any other reports so far. If it was papal it fits , if not then its a new bug . I'm not sure whether to add this or not?

Is it a new bug, ie with doomsday but the same problem?

Papal was not played and the other times Doomsday triggered the bug I'm not sure what happened tbh or what colora my opponent played.
