I'm just started to thinking about this deck type, so many threads about it arrived these days, with very cool builds (I read most of these threads). Then I decided to make an "Unofficial" thread to discuss the cards, synergies and variants to make our decks even better (I know that there is no unique winning formula, and this is great too!)
So, I've two [Order/Media] rush decks. The first one was my main deck until the Market. Then, I finally complete it, tweaking it a lot, until the got the shape that I like it. In the last couple of days I take new order cards that I never used before, they are: Octavian de Valois, Templar Sanctum and Castel Sant' Angelo. Them, I decided to build and test a new rush deck. I'll not share my lists by now, just cos after I started to brainburn this thread I realize that both decks need some tweaks.
Also, I created 2 sub-categories of rush:
Suicide Rush (S): everything that could crush opponent faster possible, without care with consequences. It could be the more "classic" rush.
Anti-control Rush (AC): just idealized this because of the meta, with plenty of control decks around.
It's possible to develop other sub-types, like anti-site, anti-agent, etc.
I'll try to discuss the most commons cards that may get in this deck type:
PURE INCOME (for nature, pure income have a suicide tendency)
- Plentiful Crop: (as there is Dama Rossa with similar income/cost, I can't see a good reason to use it)
- Political Patronage: (3 gold to put your threats early on the table, its is mindless to put 5 of it in 90% of the decks)
- Forced Inheritance: (one of the best income boosters of the game, but it only fit if you have many expensive threats.)
AGENTS:
- Dama Rossa: (very good as income booster, even better if combined with Borgia Tower and Man of the People)
- Teodor Viscardi: (light income booster, can become a threat in mid/end game, very good choice too)
- Dante Moro: (income and protection of your threats, very good choice too)
Octavian de Valois: (S) Its very aggressive, but gives a "free" plentiful crop to the opponent, that could use bombs early. Still a nice card.
- Arquebuiser: good cost/ability/Benedict, prefer him to Donato Mancini if I would not put both on a deck.
- Duccio de Luca: Not so popular, but his +1 income could be a good thing, should try anytime.
- Militia Patrolman: aggressive, but lacks a good ability, better if you can boost him in some way)
- Donato Mancini: also a good choice in an Official based deck.
- Vieri de' Pazzi: although it is the only Unblockable, I don't like his cost/power benefit.
- Niccolo Machiavelli: amazing aggressive card, but breaks my heart if I have to discard a card, but is great if managed to be the "last" played.
- Carlo Grimald: his combined abilities are great, specially if put early in game trough PP or some like that.
- Ardent Actor: First option to a Fierce based agents because it is the cheapest
- Ercole Massimo: (S) I'm in doubt to choose him or Experienced City Guide as a second Fierce option.
- Experienced City Guide: (S) idem as above.
- Ezio Auditore da Firenze: amazing card, but does not fit in a deck full of templar cards.
- Cesare Borgia: (AC) It's an amazing "surprise" finisher.
NOTE: most expensive agents are more risky (suicide) as you will lost more resources and could be easily neutralized / countered.
SITE SUPPORT
- Borgia Tower: this could be the best balanced choice, cheapest, +1 income and help your agents to stay alive.
- Art Gallery: second most used, is good, but I think that Borgia Tower still better.
- Templar Sanctum: Poor against other templar agent decks, but is fun and very aggressive. Testing it right now.
- Castel Sant'angelo: Although it is more combo than rush, I got pretty good results in my tests.
- Lair of Romulus: Why not use some site aggression? This could be easy a good surprise finisher. Testing right now too.
ACTIONS (multiuses)
- Clothes Make the Man: (AC) more funny than in the the decks objective, but could be very useful against draws/discards.
- Tactical Upheaval: cantrip multiuse card, most decks should use it.
- Magnetic personality: no brainer, 5 of it in any deck of this type.
- Court Order: (AC) are u nuts? Counter in a rush deck? I think that a little could save a match, specially against bombs. And I just lost 2 matches against Animus Reboot.
- Preemptive Strike: (AC) same idea as above.
- Man of the People: (S) very powerful finisher, Could be a disaster if countered / SE / or you draw it just after your guys just obliterated by a bomb.
Final thoughts, remember that you canĀ“t just put your preferred cards without considering other thing, like your income curve and synergies. That's all for now, share your thoughts.
