I've not really played much with the new expansion but what are people's thought on deck building.
I intend to buy some packs then go through my existing decks trying to switch new cards in to improve them. I'm thinking though would it be best just to make a fresh start, are the new abilities essential at all or do they sit well with the old ones?

lots of new stuff. i will also try to improve my old ones but as far as i can see there are not much new ones which could improve them alot. the new cards provide alot of new strategies rather than overpowering older cards (some sure do) so you have to build new decks for them

thieves nobles and cortesans can be improved for the first glance. and thieves significantly. very good treaks are now for nicodeck, but, but....new metagame will come. all will be in the other way.

Well the new cards would break the synergies of my old decks. Also the new set may change the meta. I feel that generally it seems alot faster, and Id prolly go for a consistent D2 10 income. The Nobles can go off really fast now, and slower counter cards or by kings order, are not needed that much anymore, so you can focus more on the income/field advantage.

... I'm definitely first going to try some new strategies, but I see some new cards that will surely improve my old decks. However I'm not sure if the old decks will hold up. I think it's as The Rancord says: the new generation will be a lot faster and a lot more juggling around... Which is awesome ;-)
Even though I'm still playing Diablo3, I will definitely be playing ACR again! I've already got some nice/interesting deck ideas from the new cards! See if I can make them work.

Don't forget the peasants and traders - that first scenario in story mode of the expansion shows how much better they can be utilized now.

Those peasants and traders are SICK. I can't imagine them in a good player's hands. AND they can go with any colour. It's disgusting

There is certainly cards that have massively boosted some of my old decks. Slave trade, gold memory... I think it's a 3 cost +4g. The Order site that let's you draw a memory when an agent scores or blocks! I haven't got him yet but the crime agent that makes all your memories suprises!
So far I've faced a few preupdate decks that I destroyed, a few like me with a few new cards that we're 50/50 and a few that I just got my ass handed to me, (arriatt was one) who have got a better grip of the potential of the new cards.

I just deleted all my old decks as soon as the application got updated. ^^ when new sets are around you need to force yourself to think with the new cards, or you will stay behind the ones who don't.

That's discipline! I find that some of the old concepts work well with modification, some don't. I'm slowly converting old concepts into new lists as I get to them, but yes building from scratch seems to be the best way to understand the newness
