What are your thoughts on the cards like smoke signal (next agent you launch has surprise) or into the light (next site you launch has surprise). Theres also one for actions and memories in general.. the only one I would consider using personally is the golden one, Militia Intimidation, because it replaces itself (draws a memory after resolving. I feel like those other cards are just a waste and takes away from your card advantage for not much benefit.

Well it depends on what you use them for, I think it's pretty awesome for combos, but yeah I wouldn't use then generally speaking. They're no staples

I'm not so sure, smoke signal is a good card IMO, I'm facing a lot of suprise ,counter ,agents and sites now, let alone the counters themselves. If an agent is key to getting your deck going, then smoke signal is huge.

Well... as long as they give a cheap ressource boost, they may be considered as ressource booster in terms of deck building, and that's ok to lose card advantage to gain ressources most of the time. Their effect is pretty cool.
So far, I think they can be a strong addition to a sequence. My concern is more that I need 50 stronger cards so far. Maybe I'll change my mind later.

I strongly prefer the Gold one, but the Red one works nicely because chances are, you aren't playing that Site until midgame. I highly doubt they would use a counter so early on, and by then, they'll get hit by the site when they least want it.
Compare that to the other two: you know an agent or action is coming up pretty soon, but a site? That's a different story altogether.

Military intimidation is so far my favorite card of the expansion. It has multiple uses. Against counter decks they can slip key memories through (or make him waste a counter on a cheap card).
I love using it before a powerful agent like leonardo. It makes him an all blocking cesare that gives you 2 cards.
I also use it in a military deck with Caha. It gives instant +2/2 for your campaigning agents. A good surprise.
Also, the draw an extra card makes it that much more useful. For this reason I only use military intimidation and not the other specific ones, although in a deck built for surprises, I would use the others.
Other uses is to get an anti card out fast like wrath of the righteous, royal decree, ect. Works like a charm.

Hmm? So you can stack two surprise generating effects and play two surprise conversions in a row? So there won't be just one card played canceling out both effects?

You can't stack them. It is done through timing. One ITL resolves -> place site before next one resolves -> then place site after. This way it works
