LOL, nice work man. I thought I had a fighting chance till you dropped that first reboot. Then I knew it was just a matter of time. Well played sir. I don't think I've seen that many Davincis flying around in quite a while. LOL.

simjoe,
I used this deck tonight because I was trying to figure out how to make it a competitive deck again with the new cards. Incidentally, I ran into LurifaxB tonight and I forgot he always uses Piri Reis if he's using a Scholar deck so I need to figure out how to counter those cards in the copy deck.
Good game!

Hi CoolKenny
Thanks for the game. When I saw it was you, I wanted to try my latest (evil) contender for a competitive deck. First time I met a high skilled player with this deck. It looked like you had a resource problem which slowed you down.
And I was afraid you would take my last ezio so last millisecond I countered your PYP.
You are almost right regarding using Piri in every scholar deck. I have scholar decks without him, but put him into this new deck when Tuism kicked my ass with Ezio mentor and nasty removal.

Btw, best media anti-piri card is tactical theatrics. Or use wanted posters which you can copy for mass murder (with davinci being 5/5) he should live on.
Then again those cards can be countered with sci-ESP. So an agent that kills could be better. Legionnaire Thespian may actually be useful here! (agent or launching agent gets -0/2)

lurifaxb, you're right about the resource problem. And interestingly enough, I was using the same copy deck that I referenced in this very same thread. I haven't updated it and when I saw your deck with my first PYP, I thought to myself that I really should put Tactless Theatrics in there, a few more resource boosters, and some draw power. And yeah, I would have taken the other Mentor if that PYP resolved. But when you countered it, I knew it was just a matter of time before you got the win. I haven't given up on creating a competitive copy deck but it's very hard especially against an opponent who uses Piri. Btw, nice job on Romani Camp with Ezio, Mentor... first time I saw somebody use that. I played someone before who used Ezio, Mentor with Basilica di San Pietro to pump up Basilica di Santa Maria Novella but I think yours is more efficient.

Thanks.
It was so close before I countered that PYP. Almost didn't get the resources. Before expansion it wouldn't have finished in time.
I only have 2 sites in the deck that can do this loop, so it's not a game winner every time. It works really well when it works...
The one copy that still works with piri on board is the one that targets existing agents. Maybe use that more than the others?

Yeah, I'll try that... I do have 3 packed in the current deck but the high resource requirements make copy decks inefficient at the start of the game in the current environment. I still haven't given up, though. I'm sure there's a way to make it competitive.

It is competitive, it just has a hard time in current meta. If you pack some piri killing and get a better draw with resources you will be fine.
