Great games tonight. We played each other so many times I think we both ran out of decks to play.

Yeah, you got the better of me more often than not. Always fun to match up with someone who's going to give you a war.

Yeah, you got the better of me more often than not. Always fun to match up with someone who's going to give you a war. I chalk that up to luck especially that game you played your Juno deck and I think you must have had all of them in your hand and couldn’t do much else because of that. I was just thinking after about the 4th game if I was ever going to play someone else. I always remember playing against you because you usually ROFL stomp me. I always remember the losses more than the wins. I hated it at first because you had an almost unbeatable Counter/Draw deck. I despise those decks and probably a good thing I couldn’t chat with you in game or I would have been banned. But even your other decks you play seems really cool, awesomely built, and you still whooped me. So I give you tons of credit to still be that good without counters. If you wouldn’t mind sharing I would love to see your take on the current Juno deck, and your Media agent deck with Sofia Sartor. I have been working on my own Juno deck with Georgios Kostas and Maffeo Polo but it’s too slow and would love to see a good build for a Juno deck.

No problem. The Juno deck in particular is still a work in progress. I haven't been able to buy a good draw with that deck lately (as you could tell by my drawing three straight junos with my ancient maps), and I seem to be running in to a lot of holy days lately (which wreck it), but when it works it's on fire. Basically, my ultimate plan is to run five copies of Juno, Piri, Incite Revolt, The Mentor's Return, The Discovery, Holy Day, Bitter Farewell, Sofia's Office, Judgment Day, and Ancient Map. That way, the deck is essentially forty cards (when you take the Sofia's Offices and Ancient Maps into consideration) and it's all either discarding Mentor's Returns or not discarding Incite Revolts, gaining income, and crushing the opponent with Juno or Judgment Day. I'm using Basilica Di San Pietro until I get enough Offices to replace them. Even without the full setup, I can usually get to thirty income with a halfway decent draw within a few days.
The militant deck came up as kind of an anti-meta deck. It relies on getting up and running quickly (another problem I seem to have lately, as I cannot draw one of my five PPs to save my life anymore) and spamming low-cost militants to pump up art gallery or draw half the deck with Masyaf. Since most everyone's running counters, I run several copies of constantinople, which is usually the first card I play. I also play several copies of Sofia (usually with a military intimidation to play her without her being able to be countered) to block opposing sites. It's a good deck, but it's like using a pea shooter to match up with a bazooka when I play someone like Daegnan with his Suleiman/Ezio Mentor/Assassin Stronghold/Topkapki Palace/Manuel nightmare of a deck.
I still play that counterdraw deck every now and again. It's not as good as it once was because of how much income it takes to get going and the fact that most decks' power plays come from uncounterable cards, but it's still a monster in the right matchup. I think it's what I finally had to break out to get a win last night. That deck and my copydeck are the two dinosaurs left in my line-up from the old days, everything else is pretty much revelations-centered.

Also, IIRC, you should have gotten the better of me one game because of the surprise site issue. I think you dropped two or three animus reboots in one game and they did nothing to my sites. I don't think I've run that deck again after seeing that--I don't like to take advantage of bugs and don't want to unjustly win games like that.

Thanks for posting your builds. I am going to have to try your way for Juno later. I always wanted to play with a good deck for her. Your militant deck looked fun to play because as you said it is anti-meta. I am not sure I would ever want to play you again if you updated that counter/draw deck with all the new RV cards. I am never too upset about losing when the surprising site issues come up. I have also won games I shouldn’t have because of them. I can’t seem to figure the bugs out because they are not consistent form game to game. I generally don’t like playing with bugged cards either, but the sites are just too much fun to leave out.

Just wanted to tell you I have been trying that Juno deck and love it. Although I have to play with Basilica Di San Pietro too since I dont have any Sofia's Offices, even though I have spent a lot of money and bought a ton of new Assasin's pack. Haven't tried the Militant deck yet because of lack of Sofia Sartor. I thought I had a bunch of her till I actually wanted to build a deck with that card. I hope you have better luck with your games and draws recently, I can sympathize. With my discard deck I wasn't getting any Holy Days and kept running into people playing the 11 cost cards and I was just making them stronger

I've had a pretty good run the last couple of days--I built a new counterdraw deck after our discussion here which works extremely well (still making a few modifications--I'm thinking about playing forum of the ox instead of cesare because cesare isn't as strong as he used to be and the deck is weak against sites). Also, Rancord's post about wanting to make a carnevale deck inspired me to make a piri/monteriggioni/carnevale/man of the people deck that's really fun and works surprisingly well. I'll try them out against you the next time I'm up at 2:00 A.M.

Apparently your new Counter Draw deck is so good it killed my cable modem too. It went out shortly after that beating you gave me. Nice update though.
