Hi Marie, Marc, Thierry and co
A while back we setup an unofficial forum to draw more players into a game that, a core group of us felt, wasn't mainstream enough, but should be. We also found that the Ubi forums were not doing a great job at getting people to stay playing once they knew about it or even helping provide a place where players could discuss the game. That's why we made what you see here
When we first started there were only about 5 of us actually actively checking the board each day, and it was a battle to get going, but over time we have grown to a board that even had almost 100 people online at the same time recently (97), and hundreds checking it daily.
We jumped through several hurdles, even helped market a new update with connections that members had with their friends that ran review sites for games, got featured inside the news ticker and who can even remember what else. It's been a great time and I have enjoyed the game more as a result.
I feel that now however, that the board and game is healthy and as a result there is a feeling of "mission complete" to a certain extent. That is not to say this board has no function, but that the original reason for its birth has altered and matured to something completely different. This is evident in the communication we now have with you, primarily with bugs etc now, rather than helping you guys spread news about the game and liking things on facebook or hosting articles on websites.
Since this slowly changed over time, I feel like I never got to say goodbye to some of you guys, who I enjoyed speaking with and staying up late some nights getting things ready for big announcements etc. I would like to take this opportunity for myself to say goodbye to you guys, and wish you well on your future endeavours. I myself will continue to play the game, but I feel there is no compelling reason for me to spend as much time here as I have used to, so will probably only be around once a week or so
I hope this message reaches you in fine health and that you can take this as final confirmation that we are parting ways in a happy light, and there is closure to this chapter of the story. I never like people just dissapearing on the Internet, and people wondering what happened, so this is what happened, the whole story - except the bits I forgot to include.
Looking forward to the next expansion
Peter
