I was going through the Renaissance cards yesterday and today using Baracus' website and I never really appreciated the artwork until yesterday when I forced myself to really look at the art and not just the ability of the cards for deck-building purposes.
Some or most of you may already know this but I just wanted to share some of the things I've discovered for myself:
1) Mob Justice - this is the scene where Ezio's family was hanged; you can actually see Giovanni and Federico Auditore in this card while Petruccio is in there but not as distinct as the two.
2) Radical Demotion - Cesare and Octavian defeats Mario Auditore in this card (I never really noticed that it was Mario on the floor until I looked closely at it).
3) Forced Inheritance - this is a funny one because it's a Templar card but the artwork shows (I'm guessing here) the scene where Ezio Auditore learns about his Assassin heritage. You can see the Assassin symbol in the book inside the chest.
Those are some of the memorable ones for me. Anybody else have other insights to other cards' artwork?

I've never played the games, but the great card art is part of what got me to try ACR. It sounds like the original games have a good storyline. Did you enjoy playing them? I think the first is out for mac. Let me know if you think it's worth picking up.

The first was alright as a story, not much of a great game though. They get better and better each year

The first game is a little different from the rest, but still fun. Ubisoft even added a multiplayer version with AC:Brotherhood that was fairly unique: it values stealth and cleverness of kills over sheer kill count (for the most part, at least). I'd often win games with 3 kills and 9 deaths, beating out people who'd have 10 kills and 2 deaths, 8-4, 9-1, etc.

But when I started playing AC:R, I didn't realize that the Borgias were real historical figures until I saw "The Borgias" on Amazon. That led me to reading more about the real people and events during the renaissance and then I read the backstory on the Auditores and see how they melded the fiction and the non-fiction. But as others have noted, it looks like the whole series is great. Me, I'll stick with the CCG.

The Storyline to AC is unmatched by any other video game... It is so well thought out... the games go through key historic moments (1191: the Crusades) (1459-1512: From Ezio's Birth, power struggles of the leading Italian families... the rise and fall of the Borgia and then the conflict between Selim and Ahmet) BUT: all of that is the background... the true story is the battle between the Assassins and Templars, which has been waging on since the start of mankind, as one seeks freedom, believeing that mankind will find peace, the other wishes to control mankind in order to create peace... neither are evil, and neither are good. All of this is relived through a man named Desmond who is a man whose ancestors are key assassins in the secret war, he needs to learn their skills and knowledge to not only fight against the Templars but save mankind from the Mayan Prophecy by seeking the Knowledge of Those Who Came Before. MP is our chance to see the templar's side of the story (As is Project legacy and ACIII:Liberation) (FYI 9 deaths? you need to stun some more... ) AC not only has Video Games and a CCG; they have short movies, novels and Comics wich greatly add to the story. Yes... I am an AC Nerd... So what?

Not to get too much further off-topic, but my favorite multiplayer was Assassinate in AC:B. 2v2v2. Getting two stuns followed by two kills, or vice versa. So much fun. I think I topped out at about 30th in the world in that gametype (70th or so overall). Back OT: good catches on the artwork, coolkendude.

x2 is only any use if your playing poison... And I only use for my Smoke, poison set... Animus Hack is where it is at...'Oh...trying to kill me?' Hack! 'Mwahaha'
OT: I agree, the Art is brilliant. I like Faux Pas; the are is the assassins take their stand against a weakened Cesare

Yeah art is fantastic, haven't really looked into which cards were what scenes but recognizing the characters from the game was certainly half the fun for me and it helps me remember which cards are Templar and which assassin when things get hectic The game is great - a bit repetitive in the beginning but it's always been the story that get me buying the next and next games. The multiplayer though, is faaaaantastic. Brotherhood I almost exclusively played the multiplayer

Forced Inheritance's Picture is slightly modified. In AC2 there is no that Assassin Codex in the box actually, lol
In fact many of the scenes in cards are modified. For example, Target Practice is from the scene in AC2 that Leonardo first gives Ezio the Hidden Gun, and Ezio tries it out. Looking carefully, you can see Ezio carrying a crossbow, but there is no crossbow in AC2, lol. Crossbow is first introduce in AC:B.

FYI: several of the games can be purchased for download on XBox live. I just finished the first one. It was great.
I noticed that not many of the cards feature anything from the first game but it was cool learn what all of the Animus stuff is about and why they call them memories and not just "cards."

Aye, Kyleess, Recollection starts from ACII-AC:B, then the expansion does AC:Rev
I personally hope they eventually do a Crusade (ACI) Expansion... It would be great to have The Nine and the like in AC:Rec
